1K Phew & Zaytoven Unite the South with ‘Pray For Atlanta’ Album

Atlanta’s own 1K Phew has once again taken the Christian Hip Hop scene by storm with the release of his latest collaborative album, Pray For Atlanta. It is a joint venture with legendary Hip Hop producer Zaytoven.

The album, dropped on January 19, 2024, delivers a sonic experience that seamlessly blends Atlanta’s vibrant culture with the spirit of gospel.

Marking his second collaborative project, following the 2021 joint effort with Lecrae titled No Church In A While, 1K Phew’s Pray For Atlanta is a testament to the artist’s evolution and enduring commitment to his roots.

Featuring an impressive lineup of guest appearances, including Young Dro, Hunxho, Jekalyn Carr, and more, the album introduces listeners to a diverse array of voices.

The release is accompanied by an official music video for the focus track, “Let Go Let God,” adding a visual to this already deep album. The accompanying music video, directed by Jonny Clay, takes viewers on a visual journey through a digital realm, symbolizing the struggles and triumphs of letting go and letting God guide the way.

Pray For Atlanta is not merely a musical collaboration; it’s a reunion almost ten years in the making. 1K Phew and Zaytoven’s history dates back to their first joint project, Church Gone Wild, marking a full-circle moment for the Atlanta-based artists.

“Doing the Album with Zaytoven is honestly unreal for me,” said 1K Phew. “I grew up being a fan of his watching him do these legendary projects with Atlanta icons like Gucci Mane and Future. So to know I’m now in the same company as those guys all while moving in my purpose and not compromising my mission is priceless to me. I feel like it’s really a testament to my growth since our first time connecting all those years ago.”

The artist’s mission, encapsulated in the term “Gospel Rap,” goes beyond creating catchy melodies and trap beats. It’s a commitment to crafting music that authentically reflects his journey and serves as a guiding light for listeners on their spiritual paths.

“I may not be able to save Atlanta, but I’m for sure going to Pray For Atlanta…” he says. “I am not God and I’m not trying to act like I can save this city, but I do love this city and I hate to see darkness creep in. I know the One who can make a difference so I’m for sure going to point people to Him.”
