ProxyOrb is a free web proxy service that lets you access any website directly from your browser — no software installation, no registration, no cost.

We built ProxyOrb because we believe the open web should be accessible to everyone, regardless of where they are or what network they're on. Whether you're a student at a school with a restrictive firewall, a traveler encountering geo-blocks, or someone who simply values online privacy, ProxyOrb gives you a fast, reliable way to browse freely.

Our Story

ProxyOrb was launched on January 15, 2025 with a single goal: give anyone, anywhere, a fast and reliable way to access the open web without barriers.

What started as an experiment in combining OpenResty gateway proxying with modern Service Worker technology grew into a service used by people across the globe.

Since launch we have:

• Expanded language support to 20+ locales
• Maintained a strict zero-logs policy for all browsing activity

Our mission is simple: make unrestricted internet access a right, not a privilege.

Millions of people around the world face content restrictions every day — from school and workplace firewalls to government-imposed geo-blocks. ProxyOrb addresses this by acting as a transparent intermediary between your browser and the websites you want to visit. Your real IP address stays hidden, and the target site only sees our server.

How It Works

ProxyOrb combines a traditional web proxy with modern Service Worker technology:

1. You enter a URL into ProxyOrb
2. Our gateway server fetches the page on your behalf
3. A Service Worker in your browser intercepts sub-requests and rewrites URLs to keep you proxied throughout the entire browsing session
4. The target website sees our server's IP, not yours

This architecture — using OpenResty (nginx + Lua) on the server side and a Service Worker on the client side — is what makes ProxyOrb faster and more complete than simple single-page proxies. Dynamic content, embedded scripts, and media resources all route through the proxy automatically.

Transparency

We believe you shouldn't have to take our word for how we handle your data. Our privacy practices are documented in plain language in our Privacy Policy, and we are explicit about what we log, what we don't, and how long we retain any data.

Transparency is a core part of how we build trust with our users — through clear documentation and consistent practice, not marketing claims.

Privacy Commitment

We operate a strict zero-logs policy for browsing activity. We do not:

• Store your browsing history or visited URLs
• Log your real IP address beyond what is minimally necessary for abuse prevention (retained for 60 days)
• Sell or share your data with advertisers or third parties
• Require any personal information to use the service
