I didn’t have a mentor. I didn’t have high-speed internet.
What I did have was a secondhand laptop, curiosity, and a whole lot of quiet resilience.

I started learning WordPress at 13, sitting in a small village near Okara where even a stable internet connection felt like a luxury. Most days, I’d download tutorials during my rare internet access and study them offline at night. My classroom was a dimly lit room; my teachers were trial, error, and Google.

There was no applause, no audience, just me, figuring it out one broken layout at a time.

Over the years, I built websites for friends, then clients, then strangers from across the globe. I said yes to everything because every project was a chance to grow. I made mistakes, missed sleep, and learned the hard way. But with each site, I got better. I didn’t just learn how to build with WordPress, I learned how to build myself.

Today, I run my own creative agency, have worked with clients internationally, and recently spoke at my first WordPress event, a moment that 13-year-old me wouldn’t have even dared to dream.

WordPress didn’t just give me a skill.
It gave me a voice, a career, and the confidence to believe that even if you start with nothing, you can still build everything.
