WordPress Origin Story

MY WORDPRESS ORIGIN STORY

My journey with WordPress began back in 2018. What started as pure curiosity about how websites worked quickly transformed into a deep passion for web engineering.

In the beginning, I focused on mastering the core fundamentals—HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP—while learning how page builders and existing themes operated under the hood. But as I built more complex sites, I wanted to understand the deeper architecture: how core software functions, how database queries execute, and how custom hooks and filters can turn a standard setup into a powerful web application.

Over the years, that curiosity evolved into architecting custom themes, building tailored plugins, and optimizing site performance and security across more than 150 international client projects.

After relying on WordPress to power my professional career for years, I decided to give back to the platform. Stepping into open-source contributions—testing Gutenberg features, validating Trac tickets, and earning my official WordPress Core Contributor badge—has been one of the most fulfilling milestones of my career.

Today, I combine my daily client engineering work with active community participation, aiming to leave the WordPress ecosystem a little better with every commit, test, and patch.
