Bio

I’m Kamran Abdul Aziz, a WordPress developer in Mumbai and the founder of ShifteQ, where we build and look after WordPress and WooCommerce sites with a focus on performance, security and hosting.

In the WordPress project I fix bugs that have been open for years: I reproduce them, fix them with tests, and stay with them until they land. I have core commits in 7.1.1 and the upcoming 7.2, fixes in WP-CLI and the hosting PHPUnit test runner, and I am a member of the Hosting Team. I also translate WordPress into Hindi and have three plugins in the directory.

If my work helps you or your company, you can sponsor it at github.com/sponsors/ekamran.

WordPress Origin Story

I started using WordPress in 2008 while building a site with a friend. Curiosity turned into professional work.

I spent several years with Envato Studio, installing themes, configuring sites, and solving practical problems for clients, then moved fully into development, WooCommerce, hosting, and performance.

WordCamps changed how I engage with the project. My first contribution was merged during WordCamp Asia, and contributing has been a regular part of my work ever since.
