A line of Prismatic Prospects book award medals

Attention! Book Awards for 2025

Special Announcement

Unfortunately, the announcement is that the
Annual Book Awards
won’t be taking place this year, here at Prismatic Prospects.

I confess I’m a little down about that. I’ve held book awards on this blog for the past eleven years. But I haven’t been able to read nearly enough books this time around. So, the few book picks I’ve got will have to wait for the next awards.

The Good News

Since last fall, much of my time has been taken up with my
Malt Shop Milestones series.
The idea for the series took me by surprise. Given how timely and urgent of an idea it was, I prioritized my malt shop books over the other works that are waiting for me to write them. (But they’re not holding any hard feelings over the wait—I promise!)

If you haven’t already—or even if you have—do check out the postwar historical fiction series I’ve been working on this past year. The last book in the series, Book Three, is set to release this holiday season. And we’ll (meaning, “I’ll”) do our best to bring the Annual Book Awards back in 2026!

Attention! Change for 2025

Illustration of a typewriter in between two clocks

Greetings, all!
Just wanted to give you a heads-up about a little change this year on this blog,
Prismatic Prospects.

See, I actually have three blogs now, to help more readers find the kinds of books I love to read and recommend. In addition to my posts here about books, films, writing, and more, I share my recommendations of gentle reads at
Gentle Reads Fiction.

Go to Gentle Reads Fiction site

Find recommendations of uplifting fiction reads that have very little to no profanity and no explicit sex or graphic violence.

And I’ll now be sharing my recommendations of grittier reads at
Selectively Gritty Fiction.

Go to Selectively Gritty Fiction site

Find recommendations of fiction reads with intense themes but very little to no profanity and no explicit sex.

Along with that, as an author, I’ve got the next books in the works for three of my series,
Malt Shop Milestones,
Hope Beyond,
and Crowns Legacy.

Tales of hope from another time and place

A legacy led by the world’s greatest force: love.

Because of all the books I’m excited to read and write, I’ve changed my blogging schedule of two (occasionally three) Prismatic Prospects posts a week to one post a week. (Well, occasionally two.) Plus an additional post a week at either Gentle Reads Fiction or Selectively Gritty Fiction.

If I have to make any other regular scheduling adjustments, I’ll let you know.

Here’s to a great year of books (and films) ahead, folks!
