Based on the age of the task, I'm going to guess this is no longer an issue. If it still is and ITS still recommends an escalation to SRE, this should be reopened and tagged with SRE.
@NBaca-WMF I was actually coincidentally working on search console documentation, so I've gone ahead and made the necessary updates. The internal documentation is now at a new "search consoles" Office-Wiki page, and I've updated the Wikitech page to point there.

Thanks @NBaca-WMF for the clarification.
I followed the process you described reaching out to techsupport.
Since that process is outside of phabricator, I am closing this task as declined.

Hi @MGerlach -
Apologies for the confusion here!

@SCherukuwada: pinging you since you handled a similar request in the recent past T396188. Could you help me with getting access to the data or point me to someone else who I could reach out to? Thanks
Aug 28 2025
This is not handled by SRE, this used to be handled and owned by Product Analytics Team Core Experiences team, I have no better way to reach them than you do, sorry. @SCherukuwada seems to have handled the last requests, please reach him or his team.
@jcrespo: pinging you since you are listed as member of the search-console-access-request project. Is there any additional information I should provide? Or do you know anyone else I could reach out to about this request?
Thank you for your help.

Granted. Apologies for the delay, SRE was kindly helping out with some inconsistencies in domain ownership.

Closing as unresolved as no longer relevant
Closing as configuration changed - this access has been granted. Going forward ITS will be governing this process, we'll be posting more info about this in the next month or so.
Synced with @SSpalding-WMF about this async, sounds like this request is no longer relevant. We'll be moving to have ITS manage this process going forward in the next month or so, but in the meantime I can help if you or others need access. Thanks!

Thank you! I am writing a brief update on my project literally right this minute, so great timing 😁
Hey @nshahquinn-wmf - granted just now -- we're still spinning up the ITS-mediated process for this, so I granted this manually for now. We'll post once we've gotten the ITS version ready to go!

Hi @Bodhisattwa , I think this is a different problem. Previously, all site names were Wikipedia instead of the real project name. What you would like is more a refinement that the problem described in this ticket. So it would probably be better to open another ticket to track this specific problem/request.

For Bangla Wikisource, the site title is currently wikisource.org while I check on laptop and bn.wikisource.org while I check on mobile. It would be best if the site title is changed to উইকিসংকলন for the Bangla Wikisource site.

Everything seems to be back to normal. Both icon and name are correct.

Thank you, @NBaca-WMF!
Hi all -
Just now, as a one-off, we've granted access to Neil for en.wikipedia.org and en.m.wikipedia.org. Please let me know if there are any issues with this.

Checking with Suman & Nat about this and search console access request process in general.

Yes, @SCherukuwada is the right person to bug about this (see https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/SRE/Clinic_Duty/Access_requests#Google_&_Bing_search_console_access)

@SCherukuwada are you the right person to bug about this? 😁

FYI - I've raised this in the context of Partnership checkin meeting with the Google representative. This might be able to address the issue across the whole organisation rather than requiring manual checks for each individual domain etc. I will advise if this gets resolved through that manner.

@Reedy - A good question! I've asked about this and will follow back up here when I hear more. I initially supposed the domain property percolated down but this appears not to be the case. I'll reply back when I get the full list and can update the form. Moving back to "In Progress" for now as I work through this.

Have all the WMF domains been done?
Dec 4 2024
Thank you for filing. I've filled out the form just now for the wikipedia.org domain, on behalf of the WMF Web Team, as we typically monitor SEO-related issues and manage the search console. We should be good to go on this going forward, please flag if there are issues.
