Noting for context that Naypta has reappeared on the English Wikipedia.

I guess we all came to the same conclusion. Thus I turned this issue into an request for archival.

It appears my quoted comment from 2021 was correct, as absolutely nothing of note (other than some quickly reverted vandalism to the extension's MediaWiki.org page) has happened since. I'd say the extension should just be archived at this point, but there definitely does need to be a better process for handling such situations.

I've started a discussion on the enwiki Village Pump about (eventually) implementing my extension to categorise pages from their talk pages - which would be a way of resolving this issue - to try and gather consensus at this early stage.
