We (me and Andrew) successfully installed and ran minikube on a Google Cloud VM instance (wbaas-cloud-dev-01).
VM is a type n2-standard-8 with 8 cores and 32GB memory running on Ubuntu 24.02. We still have a few CPU and memory left to spare from our package.
We were able to set up a standard dev env and so far no significant hiccup. But you should use a different SSH key for this VM and shouldn't reuse your old SSH to avoid any unexpected behaviors.
I will use this remote dev env from now on to see if I counter any problem. But so far I think this is a good idea!
