Unidentified bot editors can make it difficult to interpret editing trends. According to an investigation by @cchen (T244925), the top 100 "non-bot" editors make up over 40% of all edits when Wikidata edits are included, and 13% of edits when Wikidata edits are excluded.

More investigation is needed to determine the scale of unidentified bots across all editors, and ways that we could identify bot editors more accurately.
