Meet the Real-Life Partners of the 'I Love LA' Cast

I Love LA explores love, both platonic and romantic.

The new HBO series centers on Maia (Rachel Sennott), a New Yorker turned Angeleno, whose estranged best friend Tallulah (Odessa A’Zion) shows up at Maia’s home in Los Angeles with no warning. The main cast also includes Dylan (Josh Hutcherson), Charlie (Jordan Firstman) and Alani (True Whitaker).

While Hutcherson is the only member of the main cast in a public relationship, several guest actors, such as Leighton Meester and Elijah Wood, are married.

Sennott, who created, produced and wrote the comedy series, told Variety ahead of the show's release that her first major solo project was inspired by learning to love a place, rather than a person.

“I’ve always had this thing where if I’m feeling unhappy, I’m like, ‘I need to move and change everything.’ Anytime I would go back to New York for work, I would be like, ‘This is what I need to be doing,’ ” she told the outlet.

Sennott continued, “‘I need to break up with my boyfriend and move back and drink every night.’ And then I would do that for a week and be like, ‘Wait a second. I need to go back to L.A. and be in my backyard.’ ”

Rachel Sennott

Sennott, the show’s creator and writer, who also stars as Maia, appears to be single.

Previously, Sennott was in a relationship with fellow actor Logan Miller for several years. She told Paper magazine in 2020 that she was dating someone during the COVID-19 pandemic, but did not specify who. At the same time, Miller began posting photos with Sennott on Instagram.

However, it appears their relationship fizzled out by mid-2024.

Prior to dating Miller, the Saturday Night star told Forbes in 2020 that she had originally gotten into comedy through someone she dated while studying at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

“As a freshman in college, I was dating this guy who said he was a stand-up, all he really did was open mics,” she shared. “I went with him to an open mic. I didn’t know what stand-up was really, so I wasn’t afraid of it. I kept going because it was really fun."

Josh Hutcherson and Claudia Traisac

Hutcherson, who stars as Maia’s boyfriend Dylan in I Love LA, is the only main cast member of the show confirmed to be in a relationship. He has been dating his girlfriend, actress Claudia Traisac, for over a decade.

The couple first met in early 2013 while starring opposite each other as leads in the romantic thriller film Escobar: Paradise Lost, and went public with their relationship in June of the same year.

In the years since, they have largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight, only making a handful of public appearances together.

It wasn’t until June 2015 that the Hunger Games star confirmed they were dating at the L.A. premiere of Escobar: Paradise Lost. "It's pretty good," the actor told E! News about their romance. "Distance is hard, but we make it work."

"I'm really happy," Traisac added. "It's really great."

Leighton Meester and Adam Brody

Meester, who appears in the series as Maia's boss, has been married to actor Adam Brody since February 2014.

Brody and Meester, who starred on hit teen shows The O.C. and Gossip Girl, respectively, were introduced at an L.A. deli by Josh Schwartz, who produced both shows.

In March 2023, Brody reflected on the early days of his relationship with Meester during an interview on SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show.

"My wife and I actually got married very fast after we started dating," he shared. "That's how sort of easy a decision it was for me and us. I was never scared of the idea of marriage or kids. It always seemed like a route I would go eventually."

They worked together on the film The Oranges in 2011 and started dating in 2013. A decade later, they appeared on-screen again in the thriller film River Wild. Meester also joined her husband on season 2 of the Netflix series Nobody Wants This.

Together, the couple are parents to two children: a daughter, Arlo, born in 2015, and a son, whose name has not been publicly shared, born in 2020.

Elijah Wood and Mette-Marie Kongsved

Wood is another star who appears as a guest on I Love LA. In real life, he has been in a long-term relationship with producer Mette-Marie Kongsved.

The couple, who are rumored to be married, have kept their relationship private over the years. They first worked together on Netflix’s 2017 film I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore, which starred Wood and was produced by Kongsved.

Wood and Kongsved became parents when they welcomed their son in 2019, followed by a daughter in 2022.

Although they have never officially confirmed the news, Wood referred to the producer as his “wife” during an appearance on the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast in January 2025.

"I'm beyond grateful for my family and my kids and my wife. Like, they are such an extension of me," he said. "They are the most important people in my life."

Tim Baltz and Lily Sullivan

Tim Baltz also appears as a guest star on the HBO series. The actor and comedian, who is best known for his role in The Righteous Gemstones, has been married to his wife Lily Sullivan since 2022.

Sullivan, an actress who has appeared in episodes of The Righteous Gemstones and St. Denis Medical, met Baltz through mutual friends in L.A.

“Definitely [we] were friends for a while, we were writing a web series with a friend of ours,” Baltz shared during a December 2024 interview on the Couples Therapy podcast.

He said that prior to dating Sullivan, he found dating in L.A. to be “apocalyptic,” but knew she was special because she was “the only person who was making me laugh” during a difficult time.

After proposing to Sullivan in Paris in January 2020, they tied the knot on Feb. 5, 2022.

Colin Woodell and Danielle Campbell

The premiere of I Love LA comes less than two months after Colin Woodell, who guest stars on the show, married his longtime love Danielle Campbell.

Campbell, best known for her role on The Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals, announced their engagement in August 2023. Two years later, they exchanged vows on Sept. 13, 2025, in France, PEOPLE confirmed.
