In celebration of the spooky holiday this year, the actress, 53, took a trip down memory lane to rate her old costumes in a recent video shared to her Instagram on Thursday, Oct. 30. "I'm going to rate my Halloween looks," Garner begins. The 13 Going on 30 star begins her video with a major throwback, featuring a photo of a young Garner dressed as a clown. She wore an orange and black ensemble, white face paint and an orange hat to top it off. "10/10," she says of the look. "Makeup, costume by [her mom] Pat Garner. Oh my gosh, no notes." At the time, she was pregnant and photographed out and about on the holiday in Los Angeles. "She was bumping! I think that was my third kid, which means I was probably three months pregnant," she says, referencing her son, Samuel, whom she welcomed with her ex-husband Ben Affleck in February 2012. "Just for trying your best and being out there, I'm going to give you like an 8.5/10," she rates her costume. For Garner's third costume ranking, she reviewed her 2019 mailbox look complete with the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) logo, a blue USPS cap, white and red checkered knee-high socks and a small pumpkin handbag. "Oh girl, you need some pants!" she jokes of her pantsless look, adding, "Susie DeSanto is my favorite costume designer... like wardrobe for movies. She and I have done 12 projects together. "10/10," she confirms. For her fourth review, Garner rated her recreation of her role as Jenna Rink from 13 Going on 30 in honor of the film's 20th anniversary last year. "Every year when people tell me they dressed as Jenna Rink or they send me their Jenna Rink or when I see Jenna Rink [costumes] on the street, it makes me so happy," she says. "But I don't have the original dress, so don't come for me." Since she admitted her 2024 costume was complete with an "imposter dress," the actress gave the look a "6/10" ranking. She fully committed to the character, too, completely covering her face in green paint and wearing a black wig to top it off. The last and final look was of a mime creation, which Garner said was her first Halloween collaboration with her friend, celebrity makeup artist Fiona Stiles. The costume included classic white face paint, a striped shirt and black beret. "Fiona, you're so good! Look at her!" she says, looking back at the costume, giving the look a "10/10." Played alongside Whitney Houston’s song “I Wanna Dance with Somebody" — the same song used in the film — the actress applied lip gloss before adding retinol cream, powder and eyeliner, hilariously wearing her glasses to help her apply the eye makeup. Garner paired the dress with long white socks, dark pink sneakers and a dark gray bag across her body and spun around in her bathroom before heading out. “Happy 20th Halloween, Jenna Rink,” read her caption in honor of the film's milestone anniversary.
