Jaxson Dart is the hot young gun in the New York Giants quarterback room, but he still has a good relationship with the guys he beat out for the top spot.

The Giants rookie, 22, opened up about his relationship with the second and third string quarterbacks, Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, respectively, when speaking at a team press conference on Wednesday, Oct. 29.

"I kinda see it as I got two big brothers in the room," Dart said of Super Bowl-winner Wilson, 36, and Pro Bowler Winston, 31, during his media availability this week.

The former Ole Miss star went on to shed further light on his connection with Wilson, whom he replaced as the Giants' starting quarterback against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 28 and lead to the team's first win of the season.

"Russ might reach a little bit of Unc status a little bit," joked Dart, who was sure to add, "But they're both my big brothers out there."

Then, the 22-year-old rising star opened up about the advantage of having two NFL veterans in his corner.

"The wisdom they shed off of me is huge," he began of both Wilson and Winston. "They've done it for a long time, and they've succeeded at the highest level. I'm in a very unique situation to have those guys, and we have great relationships off the field too."

He concluded, "So, really just blessed and grateful to have those guys in the room."

It's been an exciting rookie ride for Dart to date, securing his first-ever NFL win for the Giants in his starting quarterback debut in Week 4. The game not only put the New York team in the win column for the first time this season, but it restored confidence — and hope — in its fanbase.

After the team's Week 5 loss against the New Orleans Saints, Dart helped the team pull off a shocking 34-17 upset against the Super Bowl-reigning Philadelphia Eagles a week later.

In addition to Dart — and his "good luck" necklace that he took from his younger sister and wears every game — his running back teammate and fellow rookie Cam Skattebo has helped the Giants with his stellar performance (and backflips!) at games.

However, Skattebo suffered a gruesome ankle injury during the team's rematch against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday, Oct. 26. He had to undergo surgery later that night.

It's been a rollercoaster of a ride for Skattebo, who enjoyed the best game of his rookie career in the Giants' upset over the Eagles just two weeks prior to his injury. He scored three times and contributed 110 scrimmage yards in the 34-17 victory.

Now, it remains uncertain when Skattebo will return to the field.

The New York Giants next take on the San Fransisco 49ers at home on Sunday, Nov. 2.
