  • Heidi Klum teases her 2025 Halloween costume to PEOPLE, saying she'll be "ugly"
  • The model adds that she tries to "do something different" every year
  • In past years, Klum has dressed up as E.T., a peacock, a worm and many more

Heidi Klum has big goals for her 2025 Halloween costume.

Just days ahead of her annual Halloween party, Klum tells PEOPLE that her costume is coming together nicely, but "nice" isn't exactly how she'd describe what this year's look will be. While she remains mum on what fans can expect for her inevitably over-the-top costume, she does spill a few minute details about what she'll be wearing.

"I'm going to be very ugly because I always try to do something different," she teases. "I thought last year, I was very cute with my husband as E.T. And the year before that, we were the big peacock with performers. After the worm [in 2022] that felt so simple, I wanted to make something complicated. And with having 15 [performers as part of the costume], being so many bodies creating one thing, I thought that that was different again. So I hope I came up with something new again."

Each year, Klum turns it out for Halloween, not only throwing an over-the-top bash for her famous friends but also wearing an equally over-the-top costume to amp up the fun of the night.

Last year, Klum, 52, and her husband, Tom Kaulitz, 36, both went as E.T. the extraterrestrial from the 1982 film. On the red carpet, Klum told PEOPLE she decided to embody the character because E.T. has been "part of most of our lives" and she's always been "a big fan."

"[I] kind of thought about the universe in a different way and I thought E.T. was so cute and how he was wiggling around and all the moments when E.T. got dressed up with a wig and everything so I just thought it would be fun to become E.T. and especially to see two," she said of their costumes, adding that they started getting ready at 11 a.m. the day of the party.

The year before, Klum recruited 15 performers to help fill out her costume as a peacock. She, dressed in all blue, portrayed the body of the bird, while her acrobatic performers made up the feathers.

“I wanted to do a costume with many, many people. I wanted to have a bunch of people and we all become one thing. And for me, in my mind, that one thing was the peacock,” the L'Oréal Paris ambassador told PEOPLE at her party that year.

Klum's 2022 worm costume marked her return to the Halloween scene after two years of not having her party. Kaulitz joined her as a fisherman to complete the couple's costume.

The Project Runway host went live with Amazon earlier in the day while she was getting ready, leaving fans guessing what the final costume might be. She also shared in her live stream that one of her favorite parts about hosting her party is trying to guess who is beneath each of the costumes worn by those in attendance.
