Brittany Cartwright and Her Boyfriend Brandon Hanson Break Up Nearly 2 Months After Relationship Became Public

Brittany Cartwright and her boyfriend Brandon Hanson are going their separate ways two months after their relationship became public.

On the Oct. 10 episode of her podcast, When Reality Hits with Brittany Cartwright, The Valley star, 36, declared, “I'm single.” 

“We actually did not last,” she said, referring to her relationship with Hanson. “We were very good friends before we started dating. It was kind of like a whirlwind relationship. It went into the public way sooner than we ever would have wanted it to.” 

“We still care a lot about each other,” she added. “It ended amicably, but I just could not do the long distance and he's got a lot of obligations with his three kids and jobs, and we lived three hours away, so it was just too tough to keep it going. We really cared about each other. Hopefully, we can remain friends, but it's just something I didn't see that was going to be able to continue in the future.”

She also addressed speculation that Hanson paid for her recent mommy makeover, which included abdominal reconstruction, liposuction, a tummy tuck and a breast lift with smaller implants.

“Your girl is single and definitely nobody paid for my surgery but me,” she said. “I'm a boss baby, boss bitch, I got this. All by myself and I'm happy, actually.” 

She added: “I feel good…I still got a lot of healing to do, a lot of learning to do, so I think being single for a little bit longer is what's best for me. It was a short relationship, short couple of months.” 

“Like I said, it got into the media much sooner than we wanted it to, but I, I feel good about the decision and I think, you know, this is what's best for me,” she concluded. “So wish him the best, wish everything the best. It just wasn't for me, it just didn't work out.” 

“So I'm single, tell your friends,” she teased.

On Aug. 21, the reality star stepped out with Hanson to Narwal's End of Summer Soirée in Los Angeles and her costar Kristen Doute told PEOPLE at the event that he's "very much approved of."

"She has someone in her life that's really amazing that I am head over heels for," Doute, 42, shared at the time. "She's dated people during her single years since her ex-husband [Jax Taylor], and I have not approved of them. They've been fine, but not wonderful. This person is very wonderful and very cool. Very family-feeling."

"He's a dad, so it makes it really easy," she added. "A lot easier and understandable."

Asked whether the pair are serious, Cartwright teased, "We'll see."

Four days later, a source told PEOPLE that Cartwright’s relationship came “at a time as they both are experiencing similar life changes.”

“Like Brittany, he is going through a divorce, and he and his ex have been separated for the past seven months,” the insider added of Hanson. “They reconnected well after he had already been separated.” 

“The two have found comfort in each other as they’ve been navigating their respective divorces and personal life changes,” the source added.

At the Aug. 21 event, Cartwright explained that despite her new boyfriend, she was still focused on prioritizing herself following her February 2024 split from Taylor. "I want to focus on me. I just want to have fun with my friends, have fun with my baby [Cruz] and just do fun positive things because I'm so past the drama that I had for so long in my life, and I feel like I've grown so much and I've changed so much," she told PEOPLE.
