Rosé at Bar Avignon; Genoa’s Silk Road; MORE

Welcome to this week’s event-planning EaterWire:

DIVISION/CLINTON—Bar Avignon will host its annual Rosé Fest on Saturday, June 16: Sommeliers at the cozy SE Division wine bar have selected six of their favorite rosés from across the globe, and for just $10, you can taste them all. If that isn’t enough incentive, your tasting fee will be totally refunded with the purchase of a bottle. Swing by from 4p.m. to 6p.m. this Saturday, no reservations necessary.
SOUTHEAST—On Tuesday, June 19, Genoa chef David Anderson will collaborate with Departure chef Gregory Gourdet for their “Silk Road”-inspired dinner, part of Genoa’s new monthly collaborative series. In six courses (plus beverage pairings), the chefs will retrace the famed trade route, which brought the spices of Asia to the Mediterranean and infused Italian standbys with luxurious new flavors. Heady dishes include caretto all’araba, a slow-roasted kid with saffron, spices, olives, and almonds. The dinner begins at Genoa at 6 pm. Seats are $120 each and can be reserved by calling the restaurant.

PEARL DISTRICT—No one can get too mad at drizzly days like today ‘til summer officially starts on the 21st. But in the plausible event that clouds descend upon PDX on the solstice, you may as well guarantee some enjoyment. Enter Ristorante Fratelli’s five-courser on June 21, where chef Paul Klitsie will collaborate with Allium Bistro’s Pascal Chureau to debut the summer season in the form of baked taglierini with mousseron mushroom brown butter, and pheasant confit with rhubarb and Saint Germain gastric. A seat is $55, and can be reserved by emailing here.
NW/ALPHABET DISTRICT—This Thursday, Wildwood will host a beer dinner and educational seminar that sees four chefs (including Toro Bravo’s John Gorham, St. Jack’s Aaron Barnett, and Grain & Gristle’s Nathaniel Price) pairing up with brewers to present two small plates. Wildwood’s Paul Kasten and Block 15 Brewery’s Nick Arzner boast artichoke soup with chicharron, pork rillettes with crostone and pickled calabrian chiles, and Ridgeback Red ale. Each presentation is followed by a discussion of the dishes and a Q&A. Reservations are $50 each and available by emailing here.

MILWAUKIE—This Saturday, winemaker Derek Einberger of Patton Valley Vineyard will drop in at Milwaukie Kitchen and Wine for an intimate wine dinner, where he’ll debut PVV’s 2011 Pinot Noir Rosé. Chef Pascal Sauton will sate the tipsy with six courses, including an asparagus risotto with duck sugo and glazed young carrots. For one of the $85 reservations, call Milwaukie Kitchen and Wine at (503) 653-3228.
