Violetta’s Mobile Cart, ‘Etta, Moving Into Cartopia Pod

Erin DeJesus
Erin DeJesus is contributing editor of Eater, and has held various writing and editing roles at the brand since 2010. A James Beard Award winner, she particularly loves working on stories about regional food traditions, brand shenanigans, and pop culture.

Now that Violetta, in downtown’s new Director Park, is finally open and in the swing of things, owner Dwayne Beliakoff’s mobile food cart, Etta, is also putting down permanent roots. Kinda. The roving burgermobile will call SE 12th and Hawthorne’s popular Cartopia pod home on weekends, presumably to continue wheelin’ around to private events during the rest of the week. The cart joins other drunk-food favorites Whiffies, Perierra Crêperie, and Potato Champion, symbolically taking the place of Yarp?!, which closed earlier this year.
