Germany, ha Drovcmcnts in Elastic Metal l cllics for Ychiclc ll'hccls, ol which the following is a spccilication.
The objectol' this invention is 'io provide an elastic metallic l'clly l'or vcliiclo-whcels3 and the invention. consists in the novel cmnhination and arrangement of parts, more fully hereinafter explained, shown in the accompanying drawings, and specifically set out in the claims.
In the annexed drawings, in which similar reference letters indicate similar parts throughout the several views, Figure l is an elevation oi a part of an elastic metallic i'elly with a solid tire in partial cross-section; Fig. 2, a plan view of a part of such telly and tire. Figs. 3, l, and 5 are cross-sections of various forms thereof. of an entire spokelesswheel constructed according to the same systemj Fig. 7, the same s )okelcss wheel in crosssection; Fig. 8, an elevation of an elastic metallic folly having in its periphery radial cuts the object of which will be hereinafterexplained.
The improved telly is composed of an an- Fig. 6 is a side elevation vc invented new and useful inn 1 the form of an nndulated plate (12 up to the huh, the convex plate a is omitted, as shown I in Figs. 6 and 7. The outer edge of plate b opposite to that whence the curved plate a, o, n", or (1 starts is curved to house an annular rod g to strengthen the folly at his edge.
li' dcsircd, the tiref may be omitted and the plate (1 may be slit ra'lially for a desired distance inwardly of its outer edge, as shown in Fig. .8 at a.
What i claim as my invention is 1. An elastic metallic lelly i'or vehiclewheels comprising in combination a concave nular concave portion 1) and an annular con- 1 vex portion 0, the one edge of one of these 1 portions being connected to the one edge of .thc other.said portion by a curved plate which may have the form of two semicircles, as zit-u, Fig. 25, or at a, Fig. 5, connected in an 8 curve or an E curve, respectively,or it may have the form of a single curve, as at a, Fig. l. The concave and convex portions 1) c are bridged by a cylindrical plate (Z or (9, respectively, in oron which the tircf, ol' any suitable kind: and the spokes ol' the wheel may he lastencd. ii the curved plate is continued in )late I; and a curved plate loading inwardly from one oi the edges of said concave plate.
2. An elastic metallic l'clly for vehiclewhcels comprising in combination a. concave plate I) and a curved plate leading inwardly lrom one of the edges of said concave plate and a cylindrical plate bridging said concave plate.
3. An elastic metallic folly for vehiclcwheels comprising in combination a concave plate 0 and a curved plate leading inwardly from one of the edges of said concave plate and an annular rod supporting the other edge of said concave plate.
4. An elastic metallic folly for vehiclewhcels comprising a. concave plate b, aconvex plate 0 and a curved plate extending from one edge of plate I) to one edge of plate c.
An elastic metallic fell Y for vehiclewhcels comprising a concave pl plate 0 and a curved plate extending from one edge of plate I) to one edge of plate 0 and cylindrical plates 1] (a bridging. said plates 1) 0 respectively.
Signed this 31st day of December, 1904.
