To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, FRANK J. BRADY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Choconut, Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Antikicking Attachments, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in devices for preventing cows from kicking while being milked.

I have aimed to produce a simple, durable, and effective device which may be quickly and easily applied to the animals leg and which will be free from all danger of accidental displacement and which will effectively prevent kicking of the cow While the device is in place.

With these and other objects in view the invention includes the features of construction and arrangement of parts hereinafter described, and particularly pointed out in the claims.

The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a sideelevation, and Fig. 2 is a top view.

In the drawings the numeral 3 designates a bent or angle plate which is designed to be applied to the front side of a cows leg in the manner indicated in Fig. 1, the angle or bend of the plate being such as to cause it to conform to the front of the leg at and on both sides of the joint, (above and below.)

The numerals 4 4 designate a pair of hinged members each of which consists of a curved rod having inwardly-bent ends pivotally connected to lugs 5 5, carried on the front side of the plate by bolts or pins 5 (Shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1.) A bolt 6 has an eye engaging one of the bent rods, while a similar bolt 7 has its inner end detachably connected with the other rod. The bolts 6 and 7 pass through openings in the ends of a cross-bar 8, designed to rest against the back of the cows leg, and may be pressed slightly thereagainst to hold the whole device in position and the bent plate against the front of the leg by the nuts 9.

Having thus described my invention, What I claim is- 1. An antikicking attachment for cows comprising a plate adapted to rest against the front of the leg, side members pivotally connected to said plate, a cross member adapted to bear against the rear of the leg, adjustable connections between said side members and the cross member, one of said connections being detachable, substantially as described.

2. An antikicking attachment for cows comprising a bent plate, curved rods having inwardly-bent ends pivotally connected to lugs on the front of said plate, a bolt having an eye engaging one of said rods, a bolt having a hook engaging the other, a plate having holes through which both said bolts pass, and nuts on said bolts for clamping the plate, substantially as described.
