COMBINED JOCK-STRAP AND SUSPENSORY.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No.594,673, dated November 30, 1897.

Be it known that I, CHARLES F. BENNETT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful Improvementin a Combined Jock-Strap and Suspensory, of which the following is a specication.

The object of my invention is to provide, as a new article of manufacture, a jock-strap which shall be formed entire in one piecethat is, without separated parts that require, for adjusting the device on the person-to be fastened, as by means of buckles and straps combined jock-strap and suspensory, and Fig.

'lhe device may be woven or knitted entire and thereby formed with my improvements, or it may, as in the case of that from which the drawings herein were made, be cut out of the proper elastic fabric to afford the Waist portion A, the ends of which are permanently sewed or otherwise joined together to render it endless, and the flaps B and C, depending serai No. 629,828. from the front of the waist portion, crossed one upon the other, as shown at m, and there fastened together, as by stitching, and the ends are fastened to the back of the waist portion to afford the thigh-circlets B' and C. In crossing the iiaps B and C, or provided otherwise if the device is produced in the other way suggested, the fold is caused to form a sack D, aording a suspensory.

My improved device is especially intended for the use of riders, more particularly bicycle-riders, though it is useful for all purposes in which it is customary to wear a jockstrap.

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

A com bined-jock-strap and suspeusory comprisin g an endless belt portion, and two elastic bands separated at one end and attached to the rear of the belt and crossed intermediate of their length and secured together at their inner. edges from said point of crossing to the other end and attached at said other end to the front of the belt, whereby there is provided at the rear-an opening and at the front a pouch, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
