Abstract
A doorway parallel bar fitness device includes a doorway fitness tower portion having a pair of vertical parallel bars, a pair of horizontal parallel bars, a pair of horizontal parallel supports arms and a back support. The doorway parallel bar fitness device also includes a second pair of corresponding hooks disposed on a first end of the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms, the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms are secured to the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms against the pair of horizontal parallel bars with a second pair of corresponding hooks disposed on a first end of the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms. The first pair of corresponding hooks disposed on each of the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms specifically include a screw pin and threaded aperture fastener to secure the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms against the pair of horizontal parallel bars.
Description
- The present invention generally relates to a parallel bar. More specifically, the present invention generally relates to a doorway fitness tower and parallel bar.
- With today's modern lifestyles, fitness and exercising is becoming a bigger part of people's everyday lives. Home fitness equipment is also becoming very popular as an alternative to gym memberships that often lack privacy and convenience.
- One type of home fitness equipment is utilized in combination with a doorway, which is in virtually every residence. This type of home fitness equipment is easy to set-up and is also very sturdy.
- The present invention generally relates to a parallel bar. More specifically, the present invention generally relates to a doorway fitness tower and parallel bar.
- A doorway fitness tower and parallel bar includes a doorway fitness tower portion having a pair of vertical parallel bars, a pair of horizontal parallel bars, a pair of horizontal parallel supports arms and a back support, the pair of vertical parallel bars are attached to the pair of horizontal parallel bars with a screw pin and threaded aperture fastener that are placed through a pair of first corresponding apertures disposed on the pair of vertical parallel bars and a pair of second corresponding apertures disposed on the pair of horizontal parallel bars. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar also includes a parallel bar portion having a doorway chin-up bar and an auxiliary chin-up attachment, the doorway fitness tower portion is removably attached to the doorway chin-up bar of the parallel bar portion to allow a user to securely perform one or more exercises.
- It is an object of the present invention to provide a doorway fitness tower and parallel bar that allows a user to perform a wide variety of exercises to do various chin-up types of exercises with a user having a variety of grip widths to perform the chin-ups and other suitable exercises.
- It is an object of the present invention to provide a doorway fitness tower and parallel bar that allows a user to securely perform dips, inverted chin-ups, leg lifts and other suitable exercises.
- It is an object of the present invention to provide a doorway fitness tower and parallel bar that allows a user to perform a wide variety of exercises in the comfort of their own home.
- It is an object of the present invention to provide a doorway fitness tower and parallel bar that is made of heavy tubular steel and is designed for heavy duty use of users up to approximately 300 pounds.

In particular, these operations need not be performed in the order of presentation.
- The phrase “in one embodiment” is used repeatedly. The phrase generally does not refer to the same embodiment, however, it may. The terms “comprising”, “having” and “including” are synonymous, unless the context dictates otherwise.

FIG. 1 illustrates an environmental front perspective view of a doorway fitness tower andparallel bar 100, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. - The doorway fitness tower and
parallel bar 100 may include a doorwayfitness tower portion 110 and aparallel bar portion 120. - The doorway
fitness tower portion 110 may be utilized to do dips, inverted chin-ups, leg lifts and other suitable exercises.FIG. 1 illustrates a user doing a dip exercise. Theparallel bar portion 120 may be utilized to do various chin-up type of exercises with a user having a variety of grip widths to perform the chin-ups and other suitable exercises. -
FIG. 2 illustrates a front perspective view of a doorway fitness tower andparallel bar 100, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. - The doorway fitness tower and
parallel bar 100 may include the doorwayfitness tower portion 110 and theparallel bar portion 120. The doorwayfitness tower portion 110 may include a pair of verticalparallel bars 112, a pair of horizontalparallel bars 114, a pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116 and aback support 118. Theparallel bar portion 120 may include a doorway chin-up bar 122 and an auxiliary chin-upattachment 124 that is attached to the doorway chin-up bar 122. - The doorway

parallel bars 112 may be attached to the pair of horizontalparallel bars 114 with a screw pin andwingnut fastener 113 that is placed through a pair of firstcorresponding apertures 112A disposed on the pair of verticalparallel bars 112 and a pair of secondcorresponding apertures 114A disposed on the pair of horizontalparallel bars 114. The pair of verticalparallel bars 112 may include afirst coupling hook 112B disposed on eachend 112C of each of the pair of verticalparallel bars 112. The pair of verticalparallel bars 112 may include a telescoping pair ofparallel bars 112′ or other suitable pair of vertical parallel bars. Thefirst coupling hook 112B may specifically be removably attached to the doorway chin-up bar 122 of theparallel bar portion 120 to allow a user to securely perform dips, inverted chin-ups, leg lifts and other suitable exercises. The pair of horizontalparallel bars 114 may include apadded handle 114B disposed on eachend 114C of each of the pair of horizontalparallel bars 114. The pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116 may include a curvedpadded handle 116A and a plurality ofsupplemental padding grips 116B disposed on each of the pair of horizontalparallel supports arms 116. The pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116 may include anergonomic armrest 116D disposed on each of the pair of horizontalparallel supports arms 116 to support a user's arms while performing any exercises on the doorwayfitness tower portion 110. Theergonomic armrests 116D may also be padded for enhanced comfort. The pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116 may include a first pair ofcorresponding hooks 116C disposed on each of the pair of horizontalparallel supports arms 116 to secure the pair of horizontalparallel supports arms 116 against the pair of horizontalparallel bars 114. The pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116 may include a second pair ofcorresponding hooks 117 disposed on afirst end 117′ of the pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116. Theback support 118 may also be secured between the pair of verticalparallel bars 112 to provide back support to a user while performing any exercises on the doorwayfitness tower portion 110. -
FIG. 4 illustrates a pair of horizontalparallel supports arms 116, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. - The pair of horizontal parallel supports
arms 116 may include a curvedpadded handle 116A and a plurality ofsupplemental padding grips 116B disposed on each of the pair of horizontalparallel supports arms 116. The pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116 may include anergonomic armrest 116D disposed on each of the pair of horizontalparallel supports arms 116 to support a user's arms while performing any exercises on the doorwayfitness tower portion 110. Theergonomic armrests 116D may also be padded for enhanced comfort. The pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116 may include a first pair ofcorresponding hooks 116C disposed on each of the pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116 to secure the pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116 against the pair of horizontalparallel bars 114. The pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116 may also be secured to the pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116 against the pair of horizontalparallel bars 114 with a second pair ofcorresponding hooks 117 disposed on afirst end 117′ of the pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116. -
FIG. 5A illustrates an uncoupled pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. - The first pair of
corresponding hooks 116C disposed on each of the pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116 may specifically include a screw pin and threadedaperture fastener 116C′ to secure the pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116 against the pair of horizontalparallel bars 114. The first pair ofcorresponding hooks 116C and screw pin and threadedaperture fastener 116C′ are illustrated inFIG. 5A in an uncoupled position. -
FIG. 5B illustrates a coupled pair of horizontal parallel supportsarms 116, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. - The first pair of
corresponding hooks 116C and screw pin and threadedaperture fastener 116C′ are illustrated inFIG. 5B in a coupled position. -
FIG. 6 illustrates aremovable back support 118, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. - The
back support 118 may include a fittedclip 119 that may couple theback support 118 to thehorizontal support bar 128. Theback support 118 may or may not be attached to thehorizontal support bar 128 while a user utilizes the doorway fitness tower portion (FIG. 1, 110 ). - The doorway fitness tower and
parallel bar 100 may be made of heavy tubular steel or other suitable material. The doorway fitness tower andparallel bar 100 is designed for heavy duty use of users up to approximately 300 pounds. - While the present invention has been related in terms of the foregoing embodiments those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention is not limited to the embodiments described. The present invention may be practiced with modification and alteration within the spirit and scope of the appended claims. Thus, the description is to be regarded as illustrative instead of restrictive on the present invention.
Claims (20)
1. A doorway fitness tower and parallel bar, comprising:
a doorway fitness tower portion having a pair of vertical parallel bars, a pair of horizontal parallel bars, a pair of horizontal parallel supports arms and a back support, the pair of vertical parallel bars are attached to the pair of horizontal parallel bars with a pair of screw pin and wingnut fasteners that are each placed through a pair of first corresponding apertures disposed on the pair of vertical parallel bars and a pair of second corresponding apertures disposed on the pair of horizontal parallel bars; and
a parallel bar portion having a doorway chin-up bar and an auxiliary chin-up attachment, the doorway fitness tower portion is removably attached to the doorway chin-up bar of the parallel bar portion to allow a user to securely perform one or more exercises.
2. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein the pair of vertical parallel bars are a telescoping pair of parallel bars.
3. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein the pair of horizontal parallel bars include a padded handle disposed on each end of each of the pair of horizontal parallel bars.
4. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms include a curved padded handle and a plurality of supplemental padding grips disposed on each of the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms.
5. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms include an ergonomic armrest disposed on each of the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms to support the user's arms while performing any exercises on the doorway fitness tower portion.
6. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein the ergonomic armrests are padded for enhanced comfort.
7. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms include a pair of corresponding hooks disposed on each of the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms to secure the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms against the pair of horizontal parallel bars.
8. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein the back support is secured between the pair of vertical parallel bars to provide back support to the user while performing any exercises on the doorway fitness tower portion.
9. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein the back support includes a fitted clip that couples the back support to the horizontal support bar.
10. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein the back support is attached to the horizontal support bar while the user utilizes the doorway fitness tower portion.
11. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms include a second pair of corresponding hooks disposed on a first end of the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms.
12. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms are secured to the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms against the pair of horizontal parallel bars with a second pair of corresponding hooks disposed on a first end of the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms.
13. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein a plurality of protective pads are disposed on each of the pair of curved support bars to prevent injury to the user while striking the pair of curved support bars and the doorway chin-up bar while exercising.
14. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein a pair of curved handles are disposed on each end of the pair of curved support bars to enhance the user's grip while grasping the pair of curved handles while exercising.
15. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein a pair of protective pads are disposed on each of the pair of vertical parallel bars to prevent injury to the user while striking the pair of vertical parallel bars while exercising.
16. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein the first pair of corresponding hooks disposed on each of the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms specifically include a screw pin and threaded aperture fastener to secure the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms against the pair of horizontal parallel bars.
17. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms are removed from the pair of horizontal parallel bars.
18. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein the pair of corresponding hooks couple the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms to the pair of horizontal parallel bars to provide support to the user utilizing the pair of horizontal parallel supports arms to perform any exercises.
19. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein the doorway fitness tower and parallel bar is made of heavy tubular steel.
20. The doorway fitness tower and parallel bar according to claim 1 , wherein the doorway fitness tower and parallel bar supports up to 300 pounds.
