Abstract

A storage and moving device for silverware and utensils comprising a flexible plastic material with a series of individual pockets that are heat sealed/welded to provide separate contents between pockets. Each of the pockets has an opening at the top of the pocket, and a flap is attached to back of the device that either covers each of the pockets individually or all of the pockets together, that folds over and closes each of the pockets. The device is in a flat position when opened and a rolled up position when closed.

Description

    RELATED APPLICATIONS
  • This application claims priority to provisional application Ser. No. 62/284,534 filed Oct. 2, 2015.
  • FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a storage and moving device for silverware and utensils.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • US patent Pub. 2007/0051760 relates to a backpack for carrying items. The device organizes the items and is portable, waterproof and reusable. The device includes pockets for food, utensils, drinks, plates and cups. The items are pulled out of the pockets and placed on the cutting board in the middle of the pocket. One of the pockets is lined with an insulated material. The loop and latch closure keeps things in their proper places. The device doubles as a picnic blanket.
  • US patent Pub 2014/0190865 relates to a bag for the transportation of table settings. The bag may have multiple compartments with multiple sections within the compartments. The sections maybe configured to fit table setting items to prevent damage during transportation.
  • US patent Pub 2005/0029272 relates to a portable cooler assembly for transporting food and accessory items. The cooler assembly generally includes a container body, a lid and a carrier. The container has a food storage chamber. The carrier straddles the container and has first and second pouches joined by an interconnecting member. The pouches may include an array of compartments.
  • US patent publications 2003/0029770 and 2006/0108240 relate to food preparation kits and organizing systems that include a case containing a combination of spices and/or utensils and cooking accessories. A case may take the form of a book including front and back covers connected by a spine portion. Spices may be organized and retained inside the case along with utensils such as knives, tongs and measuring spoons. One example shows a portable kitchen kit that includes a flexible carrying case that has a single rectangular panel that can be unrolled to access contents of the case. A strap fastening member is provided to maintain the case closed in a rolled-up condition for storage or transport. The case may have a zipper fastening mechanism. Numerous articles for cooking and/or preparing food may be contained in the case in a useable and functional presentation, displayed in a flat arrangement. Flat compartments or pouches are each provided with a closing device. Each pocket has a side opening directed toward the center of the case to prevent dislodging of pouch during transit.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention comprises a storage and transport device that is made of a flexible plastic material with a series of individual pockets. The individual pockets are separated to provide separate contents between pockets. It is an object of the present invention that the pockets are heat sealed or welded to provide separate individual pockets. It is an object of the present invention for the plastic material to be made from a blend of resins. It is an object of the present invention for the blend of resins to further comprise recycled plastic. It is an object of the present invention for the blend of resins to not include any recycled plastic. It is an object of the present invention for the plastic material to comprise polyethylene.
  • Each pocket has an opening so as to place and remove items from each pocket. It is an object of the present invention for each pocket to have an opening at the top of the pocket. It is an object of the present invention for each pocket opening to be a semi-circular, rectangular, square or any other shape or design that allows for easy storage and removal of contents.
  • It is an object of the present invention for each pocket to have a closing mechanism. It is an object of the present invention of the entire device to have a single closing mechanism for closing all of the pockets.
  • It is an object of the present invention for the back of each pocket to contain an individual flap that is used to fold over and enclose the contents of each pocket. It is an object of the present invention for a single flap to be used to cover all of the pockets. It is an object of the present invention for the device, once the contents are loaded into the individual pockets to be rolled up to provide a storage system that provides protection of contents during storage and moving.
  • It is an object of the present invention for the device to include a closure mechanism for securing closure of the device when the device is rolled up. It is an object of the present invention for the closure mechanism to comprise a string or elastic band or similar material. It is an object of the present invention for the closure mechanism to comprise a string or elastic band or similar material that wraps around a button or clasp or similar object. It is an object of the present invention for the device to be affixed with a plastic adhesive sticker(s) for secure closure when the device is rolled up. It is an object of the present invention for the device to lie flat when in the open position.
  • It is an object of the present invention for the device to have a mechanism which allows the device to be hung vertically or horizontally from a nail, door knob or other element which allows the bag to be mounted to a wall or in a closet. It is an object of the present invention for the mechanism to be a string, plastic strap, wire or cord that is attached to the device.
  • It is an object of the present invention for the device to comprise a cover that is the length of the device that is inserted into a band for covering the openings of the pockets to contain the contents of the device.
  • It is an object of the present invention for the device to provide secure transportation and storage for silverware/utensils during moving. It is an object of the present invention for the device to be used to provide storage and moving solutions for power cords, computer cables, electronic accessories, office supplies, remotes, sharp knives, tools, garden tools and belts.
  • It is an object of the present invention for the device to be stored in a home, garage, car, or camping grounds.
  • It is an object of the present invention for the device to be hung from the back of a door, pantry, or closet.
  • It is an object of the present invention for the device to store and organize spices, bathroom necessities, or facial towels.
  • It is an object of the present invention for the device to be used to store sterling silver, gold and other precious metals.
  • It is an object of the present invention for the device to have an antimicrobial and/or anti-fungal treatment.
  • It is an object of the present invention for the device to have printing in the form of advertising on it. It is an object of the present invention for the device to be printed with color graphics.
  • It is an object of the present invention for the device to be water resistant. It is an object of the present invention for the device to have approximately 6 to 10 pockets. It is an object of the present invention for the plastic to have a thickness of between 2.5-3.5 mils. It is an object of the present invention for each compartment to have a width of approximately 3″ to 6″ and a height of approximately 8″ to 12″, which includes approximately a 1″ to 2″ opening. It is an object of the present invention for the sealed flap to be approximately 1″ to 2″, and for the sealed flap to have a hole punched in it having a diameter of approximately 0.5″. It is an object of the present invention for the hole to be punched in the middle of the sealed flap.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • FIG. 1 shows a device 10 having pockets 12 that are divided from other pockets by a heat sealed or welded section 14. Each individual pocket has an opening 16 that allows for placement and removal of objects into the pocket.
  • FIG. 2 shows the device of FIG. 1, but further comprising a mechanism 20 which can be a string, plastic strap, wire or cord, that is used to hang the device 10.
  • FIG. 3 shows the device 40 having pockets 42 that are divided from other pockets by a heat sealed or welded section 44. Each individual pocket has an opening 46 that allows for placement and removal of objects into the pocket. The device further comprises a cover 48 that fits within a band 50 for containing the contents of the device. FIG. 3 shows the device with the cover 48 in the open position, not placed within the band 50.
  • FIG. 4 shows the device 40 of FIG. 3 having the cover 48 fitted within the band 50, and in the closed position.
  • FIG. 5 shows the device 40 in the rolled up position. The device 40 has an elastic band 55 that keeps the device 40 in the rolled up position.
  • FIG. 6 shows the device 40 in the rolled up position. The device 40 has stickers 60 that are attached to it to keep the device 40 in the rolled up position.
  • FIG. 7 shows the device 40 in the rolled up position. The device 40 has string or an elastic band 65 that wraps around a button, clasp or similar object 70 to keep the device 40 in the rolled up position.
  • FIG. 8 shows the device 40 having pockets 42 that are divided from other pockets by a heat sealed or welded section 44. Each individual pocket has an opening 46 that allows for placement and removal of objects into the pocket. Each pocket has an individual flap 75 that is placed over each opening so that each pocket maybe open and closed separately. The flaps 75 are placed under band 50 for closing the flap 75 over the opening 46 of the pocket.
  • FIG. 9 shows the device 40 having a sealed flap 80. The device 40 further comprises a hole 82 that is punched in the middle of the sealed flap 80. The hole 82 is used to assist in hanging the device 40.
  • FIG. 10 shows a single compartment or pocket 90 comprised of a main section 92 and an opening at the top 94. The pocket 90 has dimensions of height of the pocket 96, width of the pocket 98, size of the opening 100, and the entire height 102.

Claims (18)

1. A storage and transport device for utensils and silverware comprising:
a flexible plastic material with a series of individual pockets that are heat sealed or welded to provide separate contents between pockets;
each of said pockets having an opening at top of said pocket;
said device being in a flat position when opened and in a rolled up position when closed.
2. The device of claim 1 wherein each pocket opening is a semi-circular, rectangular, square or any other shape or design for easy storage and removal of contents.
3. The device of claim 1 further comprising a closure mechanism for securing closure of said device when it is in said rolled up position.
4. The device of claim 3 wherein a plastic adhesive sticker(s) is used as said closure mechanism.
5. The device of claim 3 wherein an elastic band is used as said closure mechanism that keeps said device in rolled up position.
6. The device of claim 3 wherein a string or an elastic band or similar material is used as said closure mechanism that wraps around a button, or clasp or similar object to keep said device in rolled up position.
7. The device of claim 1 further comprising a hanging mechanism so that said device can be hung from a nail, or other element which allows the bag to be mounted to a wall or hung in a closet.
8. The device of claim 7 wherein said hanging mechanism comprises a string, plastic strap, wire or cord that is attached to said device.
9. The device of claim 7 wherein said device is hung from back of a door, pantry, or closet.
10. The device of claim 1 further comprising a cover that is length of said device that is inserted into a band for containing contents of said device.
11. The device of claim 1 wherein said device secures transportation and storage for said silverware/utensils during moving or storage.
12. The device of claim 1 wherein said device provides storage and moving solutions for power cords, computer cables, electronic accessories, office supplies, remotes, sharp knives, tools, garden tools and belts.
13. The device of claim 1 wherein said device is stored in a home, garage, car, or camping grounds, or while traveling.
14. The device of claim 1 wherein said device stores and organizes spices, bathroom necessities, or facial towels.
15. The device of claim 1 wherein said device stores sterling silver, gold and other precious metals.
16. The device of claim 1 further comprising:
a flap that is attached to the back of each of said pockets;
said flap folding over to close each of said pockets.
17. The device of claim 1 wherein said plastic material is treated with an antimicrobial and/or anti-fungal chemical treatment.
18. The device of claim 1 wherein said device further comprises printing in the form of advertising.
