Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Fields of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a golf trolley, and more particularly, to a folding device of the golf trolley.
  • 2. Descriptions of Related Art
  • The conventional golf trolley is used to carry the golf bag and the golf clubs, and the golf trolley has wheels so that the players can easily move their golf clubs with them. The golf trolley is designed to be light in weight and easily folded when not in use.
  • Taiwan Patent Publication No. M410587 discloses a golf trolley with a top frame, a front frame and a rear frame, wherein the top frame is connected with a handle and the rear frame is connected with two rear wheels. A connection plate is connected between the top frame and the rear frame. A rod is connected to the top frame and the rear frame. The front frame is connected to the top frame and has a front wheel. A link mechanism is connected between the top frame and the front frame so as to fold the front frame and the front wheel toward the rear wheels. It is noted that the front wheels are moved with the front frame so that the players do not need to collect or position the front wheels which always are attached with grasses and earth. However, the golf trolley has too many parts which are inconvenient for the players to expand and fold.
  • The present invention intends to provide a golf trolley to improve the shortcomings of the conventional golf trolley.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a golf trolley and comprises a main frame having a handle connected thereto, and a front frame connected with a front wheel. Two side wheel units are connected to two sides of the front frame. A folding device is connected between the main frame and the front frame, and the folding device comprises a pivotal unit which has a first connection member on the main frame, and a second connection member on the front frame. The first connection member has a locking member and the second connection member has a pin which is located corresponding to the locking member. The first and second connection members are pivotably connected to each other. When the trolley is expanded, the locking member locks on the pin. When the trolley is to be folded, the locking member is operated to be separated from the pin to allow the trolley to be folded. A fixing sleeve is securely mounted to the main frame and a movable sleeve is mounted to the front frame. Two links are connected between two sides of the movable sleeve and the two side wheel units. A tube is pivotably connected between the fixing sleeve and the movable sleeve. A positioning member is connected to the tube and engaged with the front frame when the trolley is folded or expanded. The folding device allows the main frame and the front frame to be folded or expanded conveniently, and the cooperation of the tube and the positioning member makes the expanded trolley be stable.
  • Preferably, the first connection member has a first toothed portion and the second connection member has a second toothed portion which is engaged with the first toothed portion to set the expanded status.
  • The primary object of the present invention is to provide a golf trolley whose main frame and the front frame are easily folded or expanded by the folding device. The expanded trolley is stable by the cooperation of the tube and the positioning member.
  • The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view to show the expanded status of the golf trolley of the present invention;
  • FIG. 2 is an enlarged perspective view to show the folding device of the golf trolley of the present invention;
  • FIG. 3 is an enlarged perspective view to show that the main frame and the front frame are pivoted so as to fold the golf trolley of the present invention;
  • FIG. 4 is an enlarged perspective view to show that the main frame and the front frame are in the folded status of the golf trolley of the present invention, and
  • FIG. 5 is a perspective view to show the folded golf trolley of the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the golf trolley of the present invention comprises a main frame 1 having a handle 4 connected thereto, and a front frame 2 connected with a front wheel 21. Two side wheel units 3 are connected to two sides of the front frame 2. A folding device “A” is connected between the main frame 1 and the front frame 2.
  • The folding device “A” has a pivotal unit 5 which comprises a first connection member 51 on the main frame 1, and a second connection member 52 on the front frame 2. The first connection member 51 is pivotably connected to the second connection member 52. The first connection member 51 has a locking member 511 and the second connection member 52 has a pin 521 which is located corresponding to the locking member 511.
  • A fixing sleeve 6 is securely mounted to the main frame 1 and a movable sleeve 7 is mounted to the front frame 2. Two links 71 are connected between two sides of the movable sleeve 7 and the two side wheel units 3.
  • A tube 8 is pivotably connected between the fixing sleeve 6 and the movable sleeve 7. A positioning member 81 is connected to the tube 8 and engaged with the front frame 2 whenever the golf trolley is expanded or folded.
  • Further referring to FIGS. 3 to 5, when the golf trolley is to be folded, the locking member 511 on the first connection member 51 is lifted to be separated from the pin 521. The main frame 1 is then pivoted toward the front frame 2 by the pivotally connected first and second connection members 51, 52. During the pivotal action, the positioning member 81 on the tube 8 is separated from the front frame 2 so that the main frame 1 is pivotable. Because the fixing sleeve 6 is securely mounted to the main frame 1, and the movable sleeve 7 is movable relative to the front frame 2, so that the tube 8 pushes the movable sleeve 7 to move along the front frame 2 when the main frame 1 is pivoted. The links 71 are then pivoted to move the two side wheel units 3 inward as shown in FIG. 3. As shown in FIG. 4, when the main frame 1 is folded to the folded position, the positioning member 81 on the tube 8 is engaged with the front frame 2 again to position the main frame 1 and the front frame 2. The handle 4 is moved to the folded position as shown in FIG. 5.
  • When expanding the golf trolley, the main frame 1 and the front frame 2 are pivoted in opposite directions by the pivotal action between the first and second connection members 51, 52. The positioning member 81 on the tube 8 is disengaged from the front frame 2, and the tube 8 pulls the movable sleeve 7 to move upward along the front frame 2. When the main frame 1 and the front frame 2 are pivoted to the expanded positions, the first and second connection members 51, 52 are positioned head to tail. A first toothed portion 512 of the first connection member 51 is engaged with a second toothed portion 522 of the second connection member 52 to more securely set the expanded status of the golf trolley. The positioning member 81 on the tube 8 is engaged with the front frame 2 again to position the main frame 1 and the front frame 2. The final step is to hook the locking member 511 on the first connection member 51 to the pin 521 on the second connection member 52.
  • The golf trolley uses the folding device “A” to fold and expand the main frame 1 and the front frame 2, and the cooperation of the tube 8 and the positioning member 81 makes the expanded trolley be stable.
  • While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
