Description
- 1. Field of Invention
- The present invention relates to a golf bag apparatus and, more particularly, to a golf bag apparatus including a bag for carrying clubs, a pocket for carrying things such as balls and a cover for covering the pocket while rendering access to the pocket easy.
- 2. Related Prior Art
- In modern societies, people work under pressure and live with stress. People take vocations to get refreshed. Sport makes people relax their mind while exercising their bodies. Golf fits people of all ages. To play golf, a golfer needs various balls, various clubs, a bag to carry the balls and clubs.
- Referring to
FIG. 8 , there is shown a conventional bag apparatus including a bag for carrying clubs and a pocket for carrying thins such as balls. The pocket is equipped with a zipper operable to close and open the pocket. The zipper securely keeps things in the pocket. However, it is inconvenient for a golfer to hold a ball or tee and operate the zipper to close the pocket with one hand while holding a club in the other hand. It is also inconvenient for a golfer to hold a ball or tee, operate the zipper and put the ball or tee into the pocket with one hand while holding a club in another hand. - The present invention is therefore intended to obviate or at least alleviate the problems encountered in prior art.
- According to the present invention, a golf bag apparatus includes a bag for carrying clubs, a pocket for carrying things and a cover assembly for covering the pocket. The cover assembly includes a large cover and a plurality of small covers. The large cover includes at least one fixed edge connected to the pocket and a free edge. Each of the small covers includes two fixed edges connected to the pocket and two free edges so that a slit is defined between any adjacent two of the small covers and that a slit is defined between the large cover and a nearest one of the small covers.
- An advantage of the golf bag apparatus according to the present invention is its durability for not including a vulnerable zipper.
- Another advantage of the golf bag apparatus according to the present invention is its convenience for not including a zipper.
- Other advantages and features of the present invention will become apparent from the following description referring to the drawings.
- The present invention will be described through detailed illustration of two embodiments referring to the drawings.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a golf bag apparatus according to the first embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the golf bag apparatus in another position other than shown inFIG. 1 . -
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the golf bag apparatus in another position other than shown inFIG. 2 . -
FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the golf bag apparatus in another position other than shown inFIG. 3 . -
FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a hand in a pocket through a cover of the golf bag apparatus shown inFIG. 3 . -
FIG. 6 is a perspective view of the hand in the pocket through the cover for balls shown inFIG. 5 . -
FIG. 7 is a perspective view of a golf bag apparatus according to the second embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 8 is a perspective view of a conventional golf bag apparatus. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 through 6 , there is shown a golf bag apparatus according to a first embodiment of the present invention. The golf bag apparatus includes abag 14 for carrying clubs, apocket 16 for carrying things such as balls and tees and acover assembly 1 for securely covering thepocket 16 while allowing convenient opening of thepocket 16. Thepocket 16 is attached to thebag 14 by sewing for example. Azipper 30 is provided between thepocket 16 and thecover assembly 1. - The
cover assembly 1 includes aframe 24, alarge cover 10 and a plurality ofsmall covers 20. Thezipper 30 is provided between theframe 24 and thepocket 16. - The
large cover 10 includes a plurality ofedges 11 connected to thepocket 16 by sewing for example, two edges connected to theframe 24 and afree edge 12. There is aslit 23 between thefree edge 12 of thelarge cover 10 and a nearest one of thesmall covers 20. - The
large cover 10 is made of an elastic material so that a golfer can expand it and that it can automatically recover after the golfer releases it. - The
small covers 20 are arranged side by side. That is, thesmall covers 20 do not overlap. There is aslit 23 between any adjacent two of thesmall covers 20. Thesmall covers 20 are slender. That is, each of thesmall covers 20 includes twolong edges 21 and twoshort edges 22. Thelong edges 21 of each of thesmall covers 20 are parallel. Thelong edges 21 are free, i.e., they are not connected to anything. Theshort edges 22 are connected to theframe 24 by sewing for example. - Similarly, the
small covers 20 are made of an elastic material so that the golfer can expand them and that it can automatically recover after the golfer releases them. - Referring to
FIG. 2 , thelarge cover 10 is expanded by the golfer so that a related one of theslits 23 is enlarged. Things can be put into or taken from thepocket 16 through theslit 23. - Referring to
FIGS. 3 and 4 , any of thesmall covers 20 can be expanded by the golfer so that a related one of theslits 23 is enlarged. Things can be put into or taken from thepocket 16 through the enlarged one of theslits 23. - Referring to
FIGS. 5 and 6 , the golfer reaches a hand for balls through one of theslits 23. - Referring to
FIG. 7 , there is shown a golf bag apparatus according to a second embodiment of the present invention. The second embodiment is like the first embodiment except that the small covers 20 overlap. An upper one of the long edges of each of thesmall covers 20 overlaps a lower one of the long edges of an adjacent one of thesmall covers 20. - However, in another embodiment, a lower one of the long edges of each of the
small covers 20 overlaps an upper one of the long edges of an adjacent one of thesmall covers 20. - The golf bag apparatus according to the present invention exhibits several advantages. Firstly, it is durable for not including a vulnerable zipper. Secondly, it is convenient for not including a zipper.
- The present invention has been described via the detailed illustration of the embodiments. Those skilled in the art can derive variations from the embodiments without departing from the scope of the present invention. Therefore, the embodiments shall not limit the scope of the present invention defined in the claims.
