Abstract
A treadmill includes a base, a frame with an endless belt pivotably connected to the base, two upright supports connected to two sides of the base, a board pivotably connected to the two supports. The board has two first leg assemblies and two second leg assemblies connected to a surface thereof. The first leg assemblies are pivotably connected to the two supports so that the board is pivoted downward and secured to the supports. The board is used as a table top.
Description
- The present invention relates to a treadmill with a table top when the treadmill is in its folded status.
- A conventional treadmill is generally includes a base with two posts extending from two sides of the base and a handle assembly is connected to a top portion of the two posts, a frame with a driving motor is pivotably connected to the base and an endless belt driven by the motor is connected to the frame. In order to reduce the space occupied by the treadmill, manufacturers develop so many types of folding mechanism to fold the frame and/or the handle assembly relative to the base. The size of folded treadmills becomes compact so as to be stored in a smaller space. However, Once the treadmills are folded, they have no extra function but a folded and compact exercising device.
- The present invention intends to provide a treadmill that includes a table top which is positioned horizontally when the treadmill is folded.
- The present invention relates to a treadmill that comprises a base with two upright supports on two sides of the base and a frame has one end pivotably connected between the two sides of the base and an endless belt reeves through two ends of the frame. A board has two first leg assemblies and two second leg assemblies connected to a surface of the board wherein the surface faces the frame. The first leg assemblies are pivotably connected to the two supports so that the board is able to be pivoted toward the frame and used as a table top.
- The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
-
FIG. 1 is a side view to show the treadmill of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a top view to show the treadmill of the present invention; -
FIG. 3 shows that the first leg assembly on the board is pivotably connected to one of the supports; -
FIG. 4 is a cross sectional view to show the second leg assembly; -
FIG. 5 shows that the board includes two side panels; -
FIG. 6 shows the board is pivoted downward and is used as a table top, and -
FIG. 7 shows that table top can be adjusted up and down. - Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, the
treadmill 10 of the present invention comprises abase 11 with twoupright supports 111 connected to two sides of thebase 11 and aframe 12 has one end pivotably connected two upright tubes on the two sides of thebase 11 and anendless belt 13 reeves through two ends of theframe 12. A driving motor (not shown) is connected to theframe 20 to drive theendless belt 13. - A
board 22 connected to atable frame 20 has twofirst leg assemblies 21 and twosecond leg assemblies 210 connected to a surface of theboard 22 wherein the surface faces theframe 12. The twofirst leg assemblies 21 are pivotably connected to the twosupports 111 respectively. Thesecond leg assemblies 210 are used as two handles and a control panel is located between the twosecond leg assemblies 210 as shownFIG. 4 . Each of the first and 21, 210 includes ansecond leg assemblies inner tube 211 fixed on theboard 22 and anouter tube 212 which is movably mounted to theinner tube 211. A plurality offirst holes 2121 are defined through theinner tube 211 and a plurality ofsecond holes 2111 are defined through theouter tube 212 of each of the first and 21, 210. Asecond leg assemblies pin 213 extends through aligned first and 2121, 2122 to position thesecond holes outer tube 212 relative to theinner tube 211 of each of the first and 21, 210.second leg assemblies - Each of the
supports 111 is a tubular member with C-shaped cross section so that an open slot is defined longitudinally in eachsupport 111. Anotch 113 is defined in a top of eachsupport 111 and respective one of the twofirst leg assemblies 21 is engaged with the notch 113., aconnection pin 2123 pivotably connecting each of thefirst leg assemblies 21 to thesupport 111 corresponding thereto, each of thesupports 111 having apositioning bolt 112 threadedly extending therethrough and engaged with one of thesecond holes 2111 when the correspondingfirst leg assembly 21 is located co-axially connected with thesupport 111. - When folding the
board 22 downward, referring toFIG. 6 , the twofirst leg assemblies 21 are pivoted about the tworespective connection pins 2123 and removed from thenotches 113 till they are received in the two respective slots of the two supports 111. Thepositioning bolts 112 are then threadedly extended through the two supports 111 and engaged with thesecond holes 2111 of the twofirst leg assemblies 21. In this status, the twofirst leg assemblies 21 are co-axially connected with thesupports 111 respectively. Theboard 22 is placed horizontally so as to be used as a table top. - As shown in
FIGS. 5 and 7 , twoside panels 221 are pivotably connected to two sides of theboard 22 by hinges and a plurality ofpositioning tabs 222 are pivotably connected to theboard 22 and thetabs 222 can be pivoted to locate across conjunction sides of eachpanel 221 and each one of the two sides of theboard 22 to prevent theside panels 221 from being folded. This enlarges the usable area of the table top. The height of the table top can be adjusted up and down by re-arranging thepins 213 to extend another set of aligned first and 2111, 2121.second holes - While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
