Abstract

The present invention relates to a holding device. More particularly, the present invention relates to a golf tee holding device. This invention organises the golfers' tees in such a manner as to make the tees available for viewing on the golf bag and affords easy access without delay.

Description

    CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION
  • This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 60/366,405 filed in the United States Patent Office on Mar. 20, 2002.[0001]
  • BACKGROUND ART
  • The present invention relates to a holding device. More particularly, the present invention relates to a golf tee holding device. [0002]
  • Golfers conventionally carry golf tees loose in their pockets or golf bags. When a golfer requires a golf tee, he or she must typically search through other equipment in their pants pockets or in the golf bag to find the tee. This search can be frustrating due to the fact that the golf tee is relatively small and the golfer usually has other objects in his or her pockets or bag. [0003]
  • Golf tee holders are known in the art. Specifically, U.S. Pat. Nos. 5,172,839, 3,360,170 and 6,131,733 describe various golf tee holders. There remains a need, however, for an effective golf tee holder with a simple, stream-lined design. [0004]
  • What is needed is a holder which will securely hold one or more objects. What is further needed is a holder which will securely hold one or more objects, from which the objects can be easily viewed and readily removed. [0005]
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention provides an improved device for holding golf tees. This invention organises the golfers tees in such a manner as to make the tees available for viewing on the golf bag and affords easy access without delay. [0006]
  • Before explaining at least one embodiment of the invention in detail, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and to the arrangements of the components set forth in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. The invention is capable of other embodiments and of being carried out in various ways. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein are for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting. [0007]
  • As such, those skilled in the art will appreciate that the conception, upon which this disclosure is based, may readily be used as a basis for the designing of other structures, methods and systems for carrying out the several purposes of the present invention. It is important, therefore, that the invention be regarded as including such equivalent constructions insofar as they do not depart from the spirit and scope of the present invention. [0008]
  • The present invention is a golf tee holding device. This device is configured to be easily removed and attached to a golf bag or article of clothing.[0009]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a schematic of the present invention.[0010]
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • The device is a golf tee holding device. The holding device is comprised of a [0011] holding body 10 with at least one aperture 20 for holding a golf tee 60. In a preferred embodiment, the holding body 10 contains a plurality of apertures 20. In one embodiment, the holding body 10 contains at least 10 apertures 20, vertically aligned and equally spaced from each other.
  • Each [0012] aperture 20 is sized such that a golf tee 60 fits with the aperture 20. The aperture 20 should be large enough to easily insert and remove the tee 60, yet small enough such that the tees securely remains within the holding device until the user removes the tee 60.
  • The [0013] holding body 10 is preferably rectangular in shape. In one embodiment, the holding body 10 is about ¾″ wide and about 8″ long.
  • The [0014] holding body 10 is made of an elastic material. The elasticity enables the size of the aperture 20 to enlarge and shrink to accommodate the golf tee 60.
  • In a preferred embodiment, the [0015] holding body 10 is made of an ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM). EPDM is a synthetic rubber, highly flexible, stable material. Most importantly, EPDM has high elongation. High expansion and contraction characteristics enable the material to conform to the golf tee 60. Also, EPDM is weather resistant and therefore appropriate for use outdoors.
  • The [0016] holding body 10 has a top end 30 and said top end 30 contains means for fastening the holding body to another object, such as a golf bag of article of clothing.
  • In one embodiment, said means for fastening is a snap fastener. The male portion of a snap fastener may be located at the top end of the [0017] holding body 10. About 3″ from the male portion 40 of the snap fastener, the female portion 50 of the snap fastener may be located. The fastener is detachable to allow attachment to golf bags or clothing. In a preferred embodiment, the snap fastener is made of steel.
