Be it known that I, MAUDE E. Lrenrroo'r, a citizen of the United States, residingat Phoenix, in the county of Maricopa and State of Arizona, have invented certainnew and useful Improvements in Coal-Scuttle and Implement Carriers; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as willenable others skilled in theart to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to carriersfor coal scuttles and stove implements, and the primary object ofthe invention is to provide an improved wheeled body for receiving a coal scuttle, whereby the coal scuttle may be readily conveyed fromone part of a house to the other, and thereby eliminate the necessity of carrying the coalscuttle and thus providing an easy method of transporting coal scuttles, by children and invalids and the like. g

Another object of the invention is-to pro: vide an improved wheeled-carrier for supporting coal s'cuttles and the like having an upstanding rim formed around the same whereby the displacement of the coal scuttle is prevented. l

A further object of the invention is to provide an improved carrier for coal scuttles mounted upon a- .wheeled frame having an upwardly extending handle, whereby the same may be readily pushed around a house to the desired place, said'carrier and handle having means formedthereon whereby the stove implements such asa shovel, poker, tongs, and the like may be readily carried by the frame.

A still further object of the invention is to provide an improved coal scuttle carrier of the above character, which. is of simple and durable construction, one which. is easy and cheap to manufacture, one that can be placed upon the market at a reasonable cost, and one which is of pleasing appearance to the eye.

With these and other objects in view, the

invention consists in the novel construction, arrangement and formation of parts, as will be hereinafter more specifically described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof, in which Figure 1 is aside elevation of the improved carrier showing the coal scuttleand stove implements positioned thereon,

extends entirely around the upper edge of the plate 6 and extension 7 and the plate 6 and extension 7 are divided-from each'other by the upstanding flange l2, which has an angular .base 13, which is secured to th upper edge of the plate. The lower surface of the base plate 6 at the outer edge 15 which extends below the lower surface of the base plate and forms a rim or flange 16. This rim or flange also extends entirely around the base plate and the extensionand forms a partial housing for the rollers or casters 17. One of the casters 17 is .secured adjacent to the front and rear end of the plate at the lower surface thereof as at 18 and a pair of rollers or casters 17 is secured as at 19 intermediate the ends thereof.

' which are adapted to be driven into the base 6, which holds the handle against displacement. The handle is preferably inclined upwardly and rearwardly, as clearly shown in Fig. l of the drawings. The legs are also provided intermediatetheir ends with a coil 24: which receive the legs 25, which are coiled around the loops as 26, of a U-shaped member 27 which is positioned in a horizontal plane. The terminals of the legs of the U- shaped member are bent inwardly as at 28 and then outwardly as at 29 to form a flared entrance to the U-shaped member. A

coal hod 30 of the ordinal 1 or arefer'red construction is adapted to be positioned on the upper surface of the plate 6 and the extension 7 forms means for receiving a shovel, poker, and tongs 32, 33, and 34 respectively, and the upper ends of the tongs are inserted in the U shaped retaining member 27 through the flared entrance and forms means for retaining the implements in position.

From the foregoing description it canbe seen that an improved carrier is provided for the coal scuttle and stove implements which prevents the necessity of carrying the scuttle around and thus eliminating the weight of the coal and bucket from falling on the operator.

In practice, I have found that the form of my invention, illustrated in the 'accompanying drawings and referred to in the above description, as the preferred embodiment, is the most eliicient and practical; yet realizing the conditions concurrent with the adoption of my device will necessarily vary, I desire. to emphasize the fact that various minor-"changes in details of con struetion, proportion and arrangement of parts may be resorted to,when required without sacrificing any of the advantages of my invention as setforth.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is 1. A coal scuttle and implement carrier comprising a relatively thick base plate, A

rollers journaled in the lower face of said base plate, a metallic strip secured around the upper edge of the base plate and extending above the same, a partition member positioned on said base dividing the same into a comparatively large section to accommodate a coal scuttle and a comparatively small section to receive implements, a handle secured to the sides of said base plate and' e'idiended upwardly over the same, and an implement supporting member carried by said handle above said base plate.

2. A ,coal scuttle and implement carrier comprising a main base plate section of substantially circular form in' plan, a sub nected with said main base plate section, almetallic strip secured around the upper edge of said'base plate section and project ing "above the same to form the outer walls of the comparatively large and compara tively' small compartments, a partition member mounted on said base plate sections at the connection of the same and servingas a partition wall forsaid compartment, a metallic. strip; secured around the lower edges of said base plate sections and depending therefrom, casters mounted in the bottom of said base plate sections to permit of transportation of the carrier, a handle extended upwardly from the sides of the second mentioned base plate section and overlapping the same, said handle having inter mediate looped portions, and an implement supporting member extended through said intermediate looped portions of the handle to support implements placed in the comparatively small compartment, and a protecting plate secured upon the upper face of the base plate sections.
