Abstract

An infant carry cot (100) removably attached to a stroller is provided. The infant carry cot comprises: a frame being collapsible and comprising an upper frame (200), a lower frame (300), and a flexible sidewall (400) disposed between the upper frame (200) and the lower frame (300); at least one cushion (600) disposed on an interior side of the carry cot (100), the at least one cushion (600) comprising a plurality of removably attachable fasteners (610) for attaching the at least one cushion (600) to the flexible sidewall (400) of the carry cot (100); and a pouch for housing the at least one cushion (600) and the cushion (600) is disposed in the pouch while the pouch holds the cushion (600) in position.

Description

Baby carrier

The present invention relates to a baby carrier, in particular to a foldable baby carrier having a cushion and a foldable frame.

Baby carriers provide a convenient way to transport babies and young children. Take a sleeping box as an example. The structure of a traditional sleeping box uses a one-piece plastic shell.

Unfortunately, when the sleeping box is not in use, the plastic shell is inconvenient to store and takes up space in your home or car.

Another disadvantage of the known sleeping box is that the cushioning inside the plastic shell is not sufficient to fully protect the sleeping box occupant from accidental physical impact. The occupant is particularly susceptible to impact near the head position area inside the basket.

Therefore, in order to overcome the shortcomings of the prior art, a foldable sleeping box is needed, which has a foldable frame, whereby the sleeping box can be minimized when not in use, thereby facilitating storage convenience and saving space. At the same time, the foldable sleeping box provides a cushion to increase protection against accidental impacts, thereby improving the safety of the occupants.

One object of the present invention is to provide a foldable baby carrier with a cushion.

The present invention provides a baby carrier including at least one cushion and having a foldable frame. The cushion is disposed on an inner side of the baby carrier, for example, near the head of a passenger of the baby carrier. Or, for example, the inner two sides of the baby carrier respectively include two cushions, so that the two cushions are on both sides of the passenger of the baby carrier. The cushions may be impact-absorbing components to absorb impacts from any side of the baby carrier. In this way, the head of the passenger of the baby carrier can be protected by the cushion.

The cushion includes, for example, an elastic body or an elastic body covered with a material or a fabric. The elastic body can be any material that can absorb shock and/or has a soft texture. In one embodiment, the elastic body includes polystyrene foam, expandable polypropylene (EPP), expandable polystyrene (EPS), expandable polyolefin (EPO), polyethylene (PE) board with foam, or polyethylene board with rubber.

In one embodiment of the invention, the cushion or cushions are removably attached to the inner side of the baby carrier by magnets, buttons, snaps, clips, or hook-and-loop fabric fasteners. In this embodiment, the cushion and the inner side of the baby carrier include a plurality of mating fastening elements to removably attach the cushion to the side wall.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the cushion or cushions are independent components, and the baby carrier further includes a set of bags or side pockets to accommodate the cushion, and when the cushion is placed in the bag, the bag holds the cushion in place.

In one embodiment of the invention, the cushion extends over or is attached to the top side bar or upper frame of the baby carrier. The user can flip the cushion down before placing the occupant in the baby carrier. The cushion is attached to the top side bar or upper frame of the baby carrier by a joint, a clip, a fabric, a hinge, a fabric hinge, a hook or a buckle. The caregiver can removably connect the cushion to the top side bar or upper frame at a location suitable for the current need.

In one embodiment of the invention, the cushion extends from or is attached to a bottom side bar or lower frame of the baby carrier. The user can flip the cushion upward before placing the occupant in the baby carrier. The cushion is attached to the bottom side bar or lower frame of the baby carrier by a joint, a clip, a fabric, a hinge, a fabric hinge, a hook or a buckle. The caregiver can removably connect the cushion to the bottom side bar or lower frame at a location suitable for the current need.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the cushion is formed with a sleeve or a pocket between the side wall of the baby carrier and the cushion. Thus, a caregiver can use the sleeve or the pocket as a movable storage area, or place an additional cushion in the sleeve when needed.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the cushion includes a variety of shapes, sizes, thicknesses, materials, fabrics, or colors.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the cushion includes a combination of various shapes, sizes, thicknesses, materials, fabrics, or colors.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the cushion includes a combination of multiple removable attachment fasteners.

The present invention further provides a baby carrier including a foldable frame. The baby carrier can be collapsed or folded into itself by the foldable frame. In this way, the size of the baby carrier can be minimized when not in use or stored.

One advantage of the present invention is that when there is no baby in the baby carrier, the baby carrier can be folded or collapsed, thereby greatly reducing the size of the baby carrier, and the baby carrier can be easily stored in the trunk or the rear of the vehicle, in a cabinet or on a shelf, while saving storage space.

The foldable frame includes an upper frame, a lower frame, an elastic side wall, a handle and a plurality of hinges.

The flexible side wall is disposed between the upper frame and the lower frame by attachment or connection.

The hinges are disposed between the upper frame and the lower frame by attachment or connection.

Each hinge includes an upper bracket, a lower bracket and a pivot pin. The pivot pin holds the bottom of the upper bracket and the top of the lower bracket together, and allows the upper bracket and the lower bracket to rotate away from or closer to each other by pivoting around the pivot pin.

The top of the upper bracket is screwed to the upper frame. The bottom of the lower bracket is screwed to the lower frame. When the hinge is folded and the baby carrier is folded (the upper bracket and the lower bracket are close to each other), the top of the upper bracket rotates around the upper frame along a first direction. At the same time, the bottom of the lower bracket rotates around the lower frame along a second direction. When the hinge is opened and the baby carrier is unfolded (the upper bracket and the lower bracket move away from each other), the top of the upper bracket rotates around the upper frame along the second direction. At the same time, the bottom of the lower bracket rotates around the lower frame along the first direction.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the shackles are arranged on the outer side of the elastic side wall.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the shackles are arranged on the inner side of the elastic side wall.

In one embodiment of the present invention, there are multiple elastic side walls, and the hinges are arranged between the outer wall and the inner wall of the elastic side wall.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the hinges further include locking elements. The locking elements lock the hinges in place when the foldable frame of the baby carrier is expanded or unfolded, and prevent the upper frame and the elastic side wall from folding.

The locking elements include a latch, a latch handle, a spring and a locking shaft. When the baby carrier is fully expanded or unfolded, the spring pushes the locking shaft into a groove, a slot or a hole, and the hinge is locked in an open (unfolded) position. When the hinge is locked, the upper frame is prevented from folding toward the lower frame.

When the user wants to fold or collapse the baby carrier, the user pulls or pushes the latch to remove the locking shaft from the groove, slot or hole, thereby unlocking the hinge. When the latch is unlocked, the upper frame can be folded toward the lower frame to fold the baby carrier.

When the user wants to unfold the baby carrier, the user can grab the handle to lift the baby carrier. The weight of the lower frame or the weight of the passenger pulls the lower frame of the baby carrier away from the upper frame until the spring pushes the locking shaft into the groove, slot or hole, so that the hinge is locked in the open (unfolded) position. The user does not need to operate the locking elements in order to unfold the baby carrier and lock it in the unfolded position. When the hinge is locked, the upper frame cannot be folded toward the lower frame, and the user can easily lift the baby carrier and the passenger.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the lower frame further includes a bottom plate, which provides a floor. The bottom plate serves as a floor of the baby carrier.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the upper frame and/or the lower frame comprises a one-piece hoop/ring structure.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the upper frame and/or the lower frame includes a plurality of pieces that fit together to form a hoop/ring structure.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the upper frame and/or the lower frame comprises a hollow or solid metal or plastic material.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the flexible side wall is removable relative to the upper frame and the lower frame. For example, the flexible side wall includes a plurality of mating fastening elements that connect and fix the top of the flexible side wall to the upper frame and connect and fix the bottom of the flexible side wall to the lower frame or the bottom plate.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the baby carrier further comprises a retractable canopy. The retractable canopy can be pushed backward/downward to expose the interior of the baby carrier to carry a passenger, and can be pulled forward/upward to cover the area above the passenger's head position to protect the passenger from excessive sunlight, wind or rain.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the baby carrier further includes a plurality of mounting elements disposed on the base plate or lower frame, thereby enabling the baby carrier to be removably attached to a baby stroller.

In order to fully understand the purpose, features and effects of the present invention, the present invention is described in detail by means of the following specific embodiments and the accompanying drawings. The description is as follows: Referring to Figures 1 and 2A to 2F, a removable, foldable and/or stowable cushion is depicted according to an embodiment of the present invention.

The present invention provides a baby carrier 100 including at least one cushion 600, wherein the baby carrier 100 is, for example, a sleeping box, but the present invention is not limited thereto. The cushion 600 is disposed on an inner side of the baby carrier 100, for example, near the head of a passenger of the baby carrier 100. Or, for example, the inner two sides of the baby carrier 100 respectively include two cushions 600, so that the two cushions 600 are on both sides of the passenger of the baby carrier 100. The cushions 600 may be shock absorbing components to absorb shocks from any side of the baby carrier 100. The at least one cushion pad 600 is attached to a side wall of the baby carrier 100 via its top edge (as shown in FIG. 2C ) or bottom edge (as shown in FIG. 2D ). In this way, the head of the passenger of the baby carrier 100 can be protected by the cushion pad 600 .

The cushion 600 includes, for example, an elastic body or an elastic body covered with a material or a fabric. The elastic body can be any material that can absorb shock and/or has a soft texture. In one embodiment, the elastic body includes polystyrene foam, expandable polypropylene (EPP), expandable polystyrene (EPS), expandable polyolefin (EPO), polyethylene (PE) board with foam, or polyethylene board with rubber.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the cushion pad 600 or cushion pads 600 are removably attached to the inner side of the baby carrier 100 by a removable fastener 610 such as a magnet, a button, a snap, a clip, or a hook and loop fabric fastener. In this embodiment, the cushion pad 600 and the inner side of the baby carrier 100 include a plurality of mating fastening elements to removably attach the cushion pad 600 to the side wall.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the cushion pad 600 or the cushion pads 600 are independent components, and the baby carrier 100 further includes a set of bags or side bags to accommodate the cushion pad 600, and when the cushion pad 600 is placed in the set of bags, the set of bags holds the cushion pad 600 in place.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the cushion 600 extends over or is attached to the top side rail or upper frame 200 of the baby carrier 100. The user can flip the cushion 600 downward before placing the occupant in the baby carrier 100. The cushion 600 is attached to the top side rail or upper frame 200 of the baby carrier 100 by a connector, a clip, a fabric, a hinge, a fabric hinge, a hook, a zipper, or a buckle such as Velcro®. The caregiver can removably connect the cushion 600 to the top side bar or upper frame 200 at a location suitable for the current need.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the cushion pad 600 extends from or is attached to the bottom side bar or lower frame 300 of the baby carrier 100. The user can flip the cushion pad 600 upward before placing the occupant in the baby carrier 100. The cushion pad 600 is attached to the bottom side bar or lower frame 300 of the baby carrier 100 by a connector, a clip, a fabric, a hinge, a fabric hinge, a hook, a zipper, or a buckle such as Velcro®. The caregiver can removably connect the cushion pad 600 to the bottom side bar or the lower frame 300 at a location suitable for the current need.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the cushion 600 forms a sleeve or a pocket between the side wall of the baby carrier 100 and the cushion 600. Therefore, the caregiver can use the sleeve or the pocket as a movable storage area, or place an additional cushion in the sleeve when needed.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the buffer pad 600 includes a variety of shapes, sizes, thicknesses, materials, fabrics, or colors.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the cushion pad 600 includes a combination of various shapes, sizes, thicknesses, materials, fabrics, or colors.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the cushion 600 includes a combination of multiple removable attachment fasteners 610.

Referring to Figures 3 to 10, a foldable baby carrier 100 with multiple hinges according to an embodiment of the present invention is depicted.

The present invention further provides a baby carrier 100 including a foldable frame. The baby carrier 100 can be collapsed or folded into itself by means of the foldable frame. In this way, the size of the baby carrier 100 can be minimized when not in use or when stored.

One advantage of the present invention is that when there is no baby in the baby carrier 100, the baby carrier 100 can be folded or collapsed, thereby greatly reducing the size of the baby carrier 100, and the baby carrier 100 can be easily stored in a trunk or the rear of a vehicle, in a cabinet or on a shelf, while saving storage space.

The foldable frame includes an upper frame 200, a lower frame 300, an elastic side wall 400, a handle 500 and a plurality of hinges 700.

The handle 500 is screwed to the upper frame 200 by rotating the handle hinge 550 (as shown in FIG. 1 ).

The flexible side wall 400 is disposed between the upper frame 200 and the lower frame 300 by attachment or connection.

The hinges 700 are disposed between the upper frame 200 and the lower frame 300 by attachment or connection.

Each hinge 700 includes an upper bracket 710, a lower bracket 720 and a pivot pin 730. The pivot pin 730 holds the bottom of the upper bracket 710 and the top of the lower bracket 720 together, and the upper bracket 710 and the lower bracket 720 can rotate away from or closer to each other by pivoting around the pivot pin 730.

The top of the upper bracket 710 is screwed to the upper frame 200. The bottom of the lower bracket 720 is screwed to the lower frame 300. When the hinge 700 is folded and the baby carrier 100 is folded (the upper bracket 710 and the lower bracket 720 are close to each other), the top of the upper bracket 710 rotates around the upper frame 200 along a first direction. At the same time, the bottom of the lower bracket 720 rotates around the lower frame 300 along a second direction. When the hinge 700 is opened and the baby carrier 100 is unfolded (the upper bracket 710 and the lower bracket 720 move away from each other), the top of the upper bracket 710 rotates around the upper frame 200 along the second direction. At the same time, the bottom of the lower bracket 720 rotates around the lower frame 300 along the first direction.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the hinges 700 are disposed on the outer side of the elastic side wall 400. In one embodiment of the present invention, the hinges 700 are disposed on the inner side of the elastic side wall 400. In one embodiment of the present invention, there are multiple elastic side walls 400, and the hinges 700 are disposed between the outer wall and the inner wall of the elastic side wall 400.

In one embodiment of the present invention, there are two hinges 700. In one embodiment of the present invention, there are three hinges 700. In one embodiment of the present invention, there are four hinges 700. In one embodiment of the present invention, the number of hinges 700 is more than four.

In one embodiment of the present invention, one of the hinges 700 is disposed at an end of the baby carrier 100 that is closest to the occupant's head. In one embodiment of the present invention, one of the hinges 700 is disposed at an end of the baby carrier 100 that is closest to the occupant's feet. In one embodiment of the present invention, two of the hinges 700 are disposed on both sides of the baby carrier 100 that is closest to the occupant's head.

In one embodiment of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 9 and FIG. 10 , a plurality of cushions 600 are provided on the hinges 700. For example, each upper support 710 is provided with a cushion 600 and each lower support 720 is provided with a cushion 600. In one embodiment, when the baby carrier 100 is folded (collapsed), the cushions 600 push against the elastic side wall 400 to prevent the elastic side wall 400 from being caught in the hinge 700. In addition, the cushions 600 provide protection for the occupants of the baby carrier 100 from being separated from the hard hinge 700.

In one embodiment, the cushions 600 include, for example, polystyrene foam, expandable polypropylene (EPP), expandable polystyrene (EPS), expandable polyolefin (EPO), polyethylene (PE) sheet with foam, or polyethylene sheet with rubber. In one embodiment, the cushions 600 are non-removably attached to the hinges 700.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the cushion pads 600 are removably attached to the hinges 700 by magnets, buttons, snaps, clips, or hook-and-loop fabric fasteners. In this embodiment, the cushion pads 600 and the hinges 700 include a plurality of mating fastening elements to removably attach the cushion pads 600 to the hinges 700.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the buffer pads 600 include a variety of shapes, sizes, thicknesses, materials, fabrics, or colors.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the hinges 700 further include locking elements. The locking elements lock the hinges 700 in place when the foldable frame of the baby carrier 100 is expanded or unfolded, and prevent the upper frame 200 and the elastic side wall 400 from folding.

The locking elements include, for example, a latch, a latch handle, a spring, and a locking shaft. When the baby carrier 100 is fully expanded or unfolded, the spring pushes the locking shaft into a groove, a slot, or a hole, and the hinge 700 is locked in an open (unfolded) position. When the hinge 700 is locked, the upper frame 200 is prevented from folding toward the lower frame 300.

When the user wants to fold or collapse the baby carrier 100, the user pulls or pushes the latch to remove the locking shaft from the groove, slot or hole, thereby unlocking the hinge 700. When the latch is unlocked, the upper frame 200 can be folded toward the lower frame 300 to fold the baby carrier 100.

When the user wants to unfold the baby carrier 100, the user can grab the handle 500 to lift the baby carrier 100. The weight of the lower frame 300 or the weight of the passenger pulls the lower frame 300 of the baby carrier 100 away from the upper frame 200 until the spring pushes the locking shaft into the groove, slot or hole, thereby locking the hinge 700 in the open (unfolded) position. The user does not need to operate the locking elements in order to unfold the baby carrier 100 and lock it in the unfolded position. When the hinge 700 is locked, the upper frame 200 cannot be folded toward the lower frame 300, and the user can easily lift the baby carrier 100 and the passenger.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the lower frame 300 further includes a bottom plate 350. The bottom plate 350 serves as a floor of the baby carrier 100.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the upper frame 200 and/or the lower frame 300 comprises a one-piece hoop/ring structure.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the upper frame 200 and/or the lower frame 300 includes a plurality of pieces that fit together to form a hoop/ring structure.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the upper frame 200 and/or the lower frame 300 comprises a hollow or solid metal or plastic material.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the elastic side wall 400 is removable relative to the upper frame 200 and the lower frame 300. For example, the elastic side wall 400 includes a plurality of mating fastening elements that connect and fix the top of the elastic side wall 400 to the upper frame 200, and connect and fix the bottom of the elastic side wall 400 to the lower frame 300 or the bottom plate 350.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the baby carrier 100 further includes a retractable canopy 800. The retractable canopy 800 can be pushed backward/downward to expose the interior of the baby carrier 100 to carry the occupant, and can be pulled forward/upward to cover the area above the occupant's head position to protect the occupant from excessive sunlight, wind or rain.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the baby carrier 100 further includes a plurality of mounting elements 900 disposed on the base plate 350 or the lower frame 300, thereby enabling the baby carrier 100 to be removably attached to a baby stroller.

Claims (18)

A baby carrier (100) is used to be removably attached to a baby stroller, the baby carrier comprising: a frame that can be folded, which includes: an upper frame (200); a lower frame (300); and an elastic side wall (400) disposed between the upper frame (200) and the lower frame (300); at least one cushion (600) disposed on an inner side of the baby carrier (100); On the side, the at least one buffer pad (600) includes a plurality of removable attachment fasteners (610) for attaching the at least one buffer pad (600) to the elastic side wall (400); and a bag for accommodating the at least one buffer pad (600), and when the buffer pad (600) is placed in the bag, the bag holds the buffer pad (600) in place. The baby carrier (100) as described in claim 1, wherein the frame includes a plurality of foldable hinges (700), and the plurality of foldable hinges (700) are arranged between the upper frame (200) and the lower frame (300). The baby carrier (100) as described in claim 1, wherein the frame further includes a handle (500). The baby carrier (100) as described in claim 2, wherein each hinge (700) comprises: an upper bracket (710) rotatably connected to the upper frame (200); and a lower bracket (720) rotatably connected to the lower frame (300). The baby carrier (100) as described in claim 4, wherein each hinge (700) includes: a pivot pin (730) that holds the bottom of the upper bracket (710) and the top of the lower bracket (720) together, and the upper bracket (710) and the lower bracket (720) can rotate away from or closer to each other by pivoting around the pivot pin (730). The baby carrier (100) as described in claim 4, wherein as the frame is folded, the top of the upper support (710) rotates around the upper frame (200) along a first direction, and the bottom of the lower support (720) rotates around the lower frame (300) along a second direction. The baby carrier (100) as described in claim 6, wherein as the frame is unfolded, the top of the upper support (710) rotates around the upper frame (200) along the second direction, and the bottom of the lower support (720) rotates around the lower frame (300) along the first direction. The baby carrier (100) as described in claim 4, wherein the plurality of hinges (700) further comprises: a locking element, which locks the plurality of hinges (700) into position when the frame is unfolded and prevents the upper frame (200) and the elastic side wall (400) from folding. A baby carrier (100) as described in claim 8, wherein the locking element includes a latch, a latch handle, a spring and a locking shaft. A baby carrier (100) as described in claim 9, wherein when the frame is fully unfolded, the spring pushes the locking shaft into a groove, a slot or a hole, and the plurality of hinges (700) are locked in an open position. The baby carrier (100) as described in claim 1, wherein the lower frame (300) further includes a bottom plate (350), and the bottom plate (350) provides a floor for the frame. The baby carrier (100) as described in claim 9, wherein the frame further comprises: a plurality of mounting elements (900) disposed on the lower frame (300). The baby carrier (100) as described in claim 1, wherein the upper frame (200) and/or the lower frame (300) comprises a plurality of parts that fit together to form a hoop/ring structure. The baby carrier (100) as described in claim 1, wherein the upper frame (200) and/or the lower frame (300) comprises a hollow or solid metal or plastic material. The baby carrier (100) as described in claim 1, wherein the elastic side wall (400) is removable relative to the upper frame (200) and the lower frame (300). The baby carrier (100) as described in claim 1, wherein the elastic side wall (400) includes a plurality of mating fastening elements, which connect and fix the top of the elastic side wall (400) to the upper frame (200) and connect and fix the bottom of the elastic side wall (400) to the lower frame (300). The baby carrier (100) as described in claim 1, wherein the frame further comprises: a retractable canopy (800); wherein the retractable canopy (800) can be pushed backward/downward to expose the interior of the frame, and can be pulled forward/upward to cover at least a portion of the frame.
