Abstract

A frame assembly 30 for a stroller for conveying an infant or toddler comprises a main structural frame member 34 and a fork receiving mounting block assembly 60 secured to one end of frame member 34. A rear axle 36 is configured for rotatably supporting a pair of wheels 42, 43 at the end thereof. An inverted U-shaped handle member 50 has the ends thereof fixedly secured to rear axle 36 in symmetrical relation to the ends of axle 36. An interconnection mechanism 40 is for securing one end of frame member 34 in perpendicular relation to rear axle 36 adjacent the midpoint of axle 36. In one embodiment, a cam lever 95 means is pivotable relative to rear axle 36 and interoperatively engages interconnection mechanism 40, and is for enabling relative displacement of the mechanism. In another embodiment, a coacting means 46c is on fork 46 and block assembly 60 and enables the selection of one of two modes of operation of the fork.
