Abstract
An exercise device includes two cranks rotatably coupled to a rear portion of a upright support and each having a pivot rod, two handles having a middle portion pivoted to a front portion of the upright support with a spindle, two foot supports pivotally coupled to the handles and each having a middle portion pivotally coupled to the pivot rod of the cranks with a link, the front portions of the foot supports may be controlled by the handles to allow the foot supports to be actuated as a stepping exerciser when the front portions of the foot supports are stably held in place by the handles, and to allow the foot supports to be actuated as an elliptical exerciser when the handles are swung by the user.
Description
STATIONARY EXERCISE DEVICE The invention relates to an elliptical exercise device that includes a shift movement stroke to work either as a stairway exerciser or an elliptical exerciser. Typical ladder extenders comprise a pair of handles pivotally fixed to a base, and a pair of foot brackets pivotally coupled to the handles to be raised or moved up and down by the users. However, the movement stroke of the exercise devices can not be increased or adjusted. The invention is to provide an exercise device that includes a movement stroke change to work as a stairway or elliptical exerciser or to be converted between a stairway exerciser and an elliptical exerciser. Figures 1, 2 are perspective views of an exercise device; Figures 3, 4 are partial detailed views of the exercise device; Figures 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 are side plan views. Referring to Figures 1-5, an exercise device 1 comprises a post 11 extended up from a base 10, a spindle 12 disposed in the front portion 13 of the post 11, a wheel fixed to the rear portion 14 of the post 11 and an arrow 21, a rotary member 22 fixed to the post 11 with an axis 23, a follower 24 fixed to the shaft 23 and moved in concert with the shaft 23 and coupled to the wheel 20 with a gearwheel and chain, gear or device 25 of belt coupling and driven by the wheel 20. A flywheel 26 is fixed to the middle or lower portion of the pole 11 with a rod 27 which is coupled to the rotating member 22 with another gear 28 device and chain, gear or belt coupling. to form an element or resistance device that resists the wheel 20 and the arrow 21. Two cranks 30 are secured to the arrow 21 and each includes a rod 31 separated from the arrow 21, two handles 40 include a top portion 41 or average fixed to the spindle and each one includes a hand grip 42 to be held by the users. Two standing supports 50 each include a half portion 51 coupled to the rod 31 of the cranks 30 with a cyclically movable link 52, a front portion 53 coupled to the lower portion 44 of the handles 40, and a foot pedal 54 to support users In operation. The handles 40 can be oscillated relative to the post 11, and the middle portions 51 of the foot supports 50 can be moved cyclically by the cranks 30, so that the foot pedals 54 of the foot supports 50 can move. elliptically with respect to the post 11 of the base 10. The handles 40 and the front portion 53 of the foot supports 50 can be held stably in place by the users with the hand holders 42 to allow the supports 50 to be raised and Worked as an escalator exerciser. In addition, the oscillating movement of the handles 40 can be controlled by the users to control the movement stroke of the foot supports 50 (Figures 5-11). A coupling device 60 can couple the handles 40 together, and includes a pole 61 fixed to the post 11, and two cranks 62 are secured to the pole 61 and each includes a rod 63 separated from the pole 61, and two levers 64 each include , a first or subsequent portion 65 pivotally coupled to the rod 63 of the cranks 62 and the other or second or front portion 66 pivotally coupled to the middle portions 61 of the handles 40 with a pin 67 that is spaced from the spindle 12, to allow that the handles 40 are coupled together.
The wheel 20, the rotating member 22, the follower 24, and the flywheel 26 can be actuated as a resistance means or device for applying a resistive or retarding force against the wheel 20 and the arrow 21 and the cranks 30 and the link 52 and the standing supports 50 and the levers 32 and the handles 40. A magnetic delay device (not shown) can be attached to the wheel 20 and / or the rotating member 22 and / or the follower 24 and / or the steering wheel. 26. The handles 40 each include, a lower portion 44 coupled to the front portion 53 of the foot supports 50 to allow the movement stroke of the foot supports 50 to be controlled by the users with the handles 40 and to allow users to drive freely and selectively Stairway exercises and / or elliptical exercises without adjusting any mechanism or parts or elements.
