Abstract

A device comprised of a member adapted to receive an infant's buttocks and an outer edge adapted to prevent the infant from rolling over is provided for handling the infant. The outer edge is provided with a flange adapted to support at least one of a plurality of diaper strips in a cartridge manner. The outer edge is foldable, so the device can be portable.

Description

The present invention relates to an apparatus for infants. More particularly, the present invention relates to an apparatus adapted to assist with the handling of infants and infants, especially infants.

Infant treatment is often the hardest work a parent does in his life throughout the first year and especially if he is just born. Parents and especially mothers are overworked and confused by infants and their treatment. Caring for an infant is a lonely and stressful responsibility, and parents, especially novice parents, are unskilled and sometimes even harm the infant.

Many products are developed to help parents who handle newborns in daily life. There are specially designed bathtubs, special equipment that keeps the baby in the right position during sleep, special monitors, sensors, shakers, baby bottle sterilizers, heaters, and so on.

One of the most frequently handled infant care is changing the baby's diapers. Changing diapers is done indoors, at home, and outdoors. Infant diapers are mostly placed on a special mattress, especially outdoors. However, mattresses are often made of a thin, soft material that simply touches the infant's back, but does not serve as a handling aid that creates boundaries that prevent the baby from rolling during handling.

There needs to be provided a means to help the caregiver who is taking care of the baby so that it can be firmly fixed while handling the baby. In addition, there is a need to provide a device that can be located outdoors during handling that is portable and has all the convenience of handling at home and that is also used outdoors.

It is an object of the present invention to provide an apparatus for handling infants, especially diapers.

Another object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus for changing babies that is equipped with equipment to help care for the infant.

In addition, another object of the present invention is to provide stability to the infant, and in particular to provide a means to prevent the infant from rolling during care.

Yet another object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus for caring for an infant that is portable and can be easily deployed anywhere.

Therefore, according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention,
A member adapted to receive an infant's buttocks,
It consists of an outer edge provided on the member,
The infant is laid down on the member and the outer edge is adapted to prevent the infant from overturning, rotating and falling;
An apparatus for handling infants is provided.

In addition, and in accordance with another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus further includes a flange on each of the outer edges, the flange being adapted to support at least one of a plurality of diaper strips.

Further in accordance with another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the flange is provided with an adhesive surface adapted to adhere oppositely to the diaper strip.

Furthermore, according to another preferred embodiment of the invention, the flange is comb-shaped and the diaper strip is adapted to be held by the flange.

Furthermore, in accordance with another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the member is designed to have a score so as to receive a plurality of unfolded usable diapers.

Further in accordance with another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the outer edge is foldable and is adapted to fold over the member.

In addition, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, a flexible sheet is provided between the outer edges, and an infant is placed on the flexible sheet between the outer edges.

Furthermore, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, a flexible sheet is provided between each of the outer edges and the member.

Further in accordance with another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the device is provided with an elastic strap adapted to pull the outer edge outward so that the deployed initial position can be determined.

Further in accordance with another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the member is provided with a foldable extension.

Furthermore, according to another preferred embodiment of the invention, the member is provided with a fold line between the parts.

Furthermore, in accordance with another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the member is adapted to be adjustably spread.

Furthermore, according to another preferred embodiment of the invention, said member is composed of two parts adapted to be drawn out opposite to each other.

In addition, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the member is provided with a hole through which the tissue drawn from the tissue box passes.

Furthermore, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, a container holder for a baby paste (pasty baby food) is provided in the apparatus.

Further in accordance with another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the holder is a hole in one of the outer edges.

Furthermore, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the holder is a strap.

Furthermore, in accordance with another preferred embodiment of the present invention, an elastic member is provided below the member.

According to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the elastic member is a spring.

Furthermore, according to another preferred embodiment of the invention, the headrest is adjustable.

Furthermore, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the headrest is removable.

Furthermore, another preferred embodiment of the present invention provides a head fixture.

Further in accordance with another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the member and the outer edge are designed to be surrounded by the device when the infant is placed on the device.

In addition, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, a rotating base is provided under the device.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention

The present invention provides a new and unique device that assists in the handling of infants and, in particular, changing diapers. The present invention solves the problem of handling infants indoors as well as outdoors. According to one aspect of the present invention, the device is shaped to suit the infant's posture and includes a cartridge on which a plurality of diapers are stacked. In accordance with the objectives and other aspects of the present invention, the primary member on which an infant is to be handled is designed to have a notch adapted to receive a plurality of pre-prepared and usable diapers. In accordance with other aspects of the invention, the device can be adjusted to vary in size to accommodate the size of the infant or to one or more children.

In accordance with yet another aspect of the present invention, the device for handling infants can be foldable and portable so that the caregiver can carry the device when going outdoors.

In all cases disclosed in the present invention, there is a means in the device to prevent the baby from tipping over and rotating, which helps the infant to handle when the back is fixed.

It should be noted that the device is designed to be surrounded when the infant is placed on the device. This feature can give the infant a safe and secure feeling during handling.

Reference is now made to FIG. 1, which shows an isometric view of an apparatus for handling infants, according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. Infant diaper changing apparatus 10 (shown in FIG. 1A) comprises a member 12 adapted to fit an infant's buttocks.
The member 12 is provided with opposing outer edges 16 that are adapted to prevent the infant from rolling, rotating, and falling from the member 12 and to limit movement to assist the caregiver.

Optionally, the device 10 is provided with a corresponding buckle 20 in the relevant position where the belt 18 and the infant's torso or abdomen are to be pulled. The belt is selectively used when the caregiver wants to leave the place a little bit or when more safety is required when the infant is secured to the device.

Optionally, the device 10 is provided with flanges 24 on either side of the outer edge 16 of the device. FIG. 1B is an enlarged view of the flange range. The flange 24 functions as a cartridge and is adapted to hold a portion of a plurality of diapers. The device can be pre-prepared with multiple diapers so that there is already a clean diaper that can be unfolded and used on the device when changing diapers for babies. As described above, the flange functions as a holder or a cartridge-like member for holding a plurality of previously prepared diapers. The infant is placed on the top available diaper on the device. In the illustrated embodiment, each flange 24 is comprised of a plurality of parallel leaves 26 connected at one end by pins 28 to the edges 16. Each leaf 26 is preferably provided with an adhesive surface (adhesive surface not shown) adapted to fold the diaper edge 32 provided with a corresponding adhesive surface 30. The surface 30 is a standard edge surface provided on the diaper. An example of an adhesive surface for a leaf is scotch tape.

It is important to understand that the device can load a plurality of previously opened diapers and can also function as a cartridge-like member.

FIG. 1C shows an optional flange that can be incorporated into the device 10. The comb-shaped member 34 is provided with a plurality of slits 36 within the range where the edge 32 of the diaper is bonded as described above.

Returning to FIG. 1A, a single diaper 38 or multiple diapers can be loaded onto the apparatus 10. When trying to apply a new diaper after the infant has been cleaned, the caregiver only has to remove the top diaper edge 32 from the flange 24 and apply the strip in the proper place in the usual way.

Reference is now made to FIG. 2, which shows an isometric view of a foldable device for changing the baby's diaper in different states. The baby diaper changing apparatus 100 is composed of three parts adapted to be folded one on top of the other to create a flat structure of the folder (paper shear) type. The folding structure can also prepare the device with at least one diaper that can be unfolded and used. FIG. 2A shows a folding device in which two fold lines 102 are provided to place the hinge.

It should be noted that the two fold lines are selective and basic and that the device can be folded in other ways as will be shown later.

FIG. 2B shows an intermediate state in which the folding device 100 is partially open. The right edge portion 104 is rotated to place the first outer edge along the matching fold line 102. The fold line 102 is secured using a stopper 105 to prevent further rotation away from the bottom. Next, the left edge portion 106 is moved upward to build the opposite edge. Base 108 is used to support the infant.

FIG. 2C shows the device 100 fully open. As previously described herein, a pre-prepared diaper 111 is provided to the device. The flange 112 is magnified and shown with a leaf 114 with an adhesive surface adapted to be bonded to an edge 118 of the diaper with an adhesive surface 116. The device can be selectively secured in a foldable manner using similar adhesive surfaces or other means such as scotch tape or buttons. The collapsible part is made of a relatively strong material, but can also be made of a resilient material.

Optionally, by providing a cartridge similar to that shown hereinabove, a plurality of diapers can be provided in an unfolded manner within the portable device.

A highly flexible sheet 120 is provided between the parts and the infant is placed on top of this sheet. The material of the sheet is preferably more flexible than the material from which the foldable part is made and functions as a cradle that prevents the baby from rotating and rollover.

Such flexible sheets can also be provided for devices that are not necessarily portable as shown in the text.

Optionally, the device can be provided with a small support leg below the main surface on which the infant is placed. When the infant is placed on a relatively flexible device, the weight of the infant lowers the central portion so that the edges are closer together so that the infant is somewhat surrounded and safe.

Optionally, the two slanted flexible sheets can be sewn to the device in a V-shape that encloses the infant when placed on the device.

The collapsible device is preferably adapted to be made of a polymer material that is easy to carry so that the device can be provided with transport characteristics. The collapsible device can be adapted for single use or multiple uses.

The headrest can be provided to the portable device in various dimensions to be connected to the device according to the infant's size.

Reference is now made to FIG. 3, which shows an isometric view of an adjustable device for changing babies according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention. This embodiment is substantially similar to the apparatus 10, but this embodiment introduces adjustable features. The device 200 is comprised of a member 202 and an outer edge 204 that is adapted to adjustably expand. The member 202 is divided into two parts 202a and 202b along the side surface, and recesses are provided opposite to each other in both parts.

The portion 202a is provided with three recesses 206 (the recesses are shown vertically), with the recess opening at the edge of the portion facing the portion 202b. Similarly, the portion 202 b is provided with three recesses 208 positioned relative to the recesses 206. A bar 210 is provided and inserted for every two opposing recesses 206 and 208 so that the two parts can be connected and the two parts 202a and 202b can be separated from each other in a controlled manner in a controlled manner. The adjustment of the part is performed according to arrows 212 shown on both sides of the member 202.

The member can be provided with other types of structures that allow adjustment of the sides of the device without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Reference is now made to FIG. 4, which shows an isometric view of an apparatus for handling infants according to yet another preferred embodiment of the present invention. The device 300 is basically the same as the device 100.
However, the device 300 is provided with an adjustable headrest 302 so that it can be tilted or upright, with other members and in particular a member 301 on which the infant's buttocks are preferably placed. If the headrest is tilted, a drawer 303 with a cover 305 can be provided below it (shown in the upper right corner of the page). The headrest can be made entirely or partially of a soft material, or a cushion can be incorporated.

Optionally, as shown in FIG. 4, member 301 is designed to have a notch so as to receive a plurality of diapers that have been prepared for use. It should be noted that such indents can be provided on any one of the other members of the device of the present invention.

Optionally, an appropriate location for the tissue is provided at an appropriate location on the device 300. Tissue 306 can be placed in a refill box 304 located below surface 308 and removed as indicated by arrow 305 to be refilled. A standard refill box is optionally provided below the surface 308 to allow the tissue to be used through a hole 309 in the surface. Tissues 306 can be pulled out of the box one by one, as used in other known tissue box techniques. The tissue box is secured to the device by providing support to the box. Therefore, the childcare person can pull out the tissue from the box using only one hand. This helps clean the infant before changing diapers.

It should be mentioned that the tissue can be any type used for infants, such as wet tissue or dry tissue.

Another accessory that can be selectively provided to the device 300 is where the tube with the baby paste 310 is installed. Incorporation or inclusion of accessories used in the baby changing process into the device helps the caregiver handle the infant. The tube 310 is provided with a cover 312 having a nozzle 314 through which baby paste is dispensed. The baby tube is assembled into the device through a dedicated hole 315 (shown in FIG. 3). Optionally, a squeezer 316 is used to further facilitate baby care. The hole 315 is preferably connected to the outer edge 204 of the device.

Reference is now made to FIG. 5, which shows an isometric view of an apparatus for treating an infant with a head fixture, according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention. The device 400 has two additional features that can be incorporated into the devices shown above to improve its functionality. A resilient element, such as a spring 402, is selectively provided at the bottom of the device to provide movement to the device. The device can swing up and down in the direction of arrow 403 to soothe a crying infant by moving the device. The spring 402 can be provided with means for securing the spring to prevent further movement of the device.

Head fixture 404 is provided in apparatus 400. The head fixture 400 can be glued or non-glued to the headrest 406 and can be used to hold the infant's head, for example, when medication is given through a syringe, or when the child needs to be secured. Used when needed to fix.

Infant accessories such as baby mobile 405 can be added to the device.

Reference is now made to FIG. 6, which shows an isometric view of an apparatus for handling infants, according to an additional preferred embodiment of the present invention. Apparatus 500 is similar to any of those previously shown in the embodiments described above. A rotation base 502 is provided under the device to rotate the device according to arrow 504.

It should be noted that a light notch can be selectively provided in a member fitted under the baby's buttocks. The notch is adapted to accept a plurality of diapers stacked in order in case a plurality of diapers prepared in advance for diaper change is needed.

Reference is now made to FIG. 7, which shows an isometric view of a folding device for handling infants, according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. The folding device 600 for handling infants is provided with three parts extending vertically. Two folding lines 602 are provided to provide a folder-like structure to the device when folded (FIG. 7A). An infant (not shown in the figure) is positioned along the device so that the buttocks are placed substantially over the member 606. Most importantly, the two opposite outer edges 604 can also be folded and placed to build the two edges, as shown in another embodiment herein. The edge 604 is adapted to lie at an angle of about 90 degrees relative to the member 606 through a stopper 608 provided between the edge and the member. Stopper 608 is also preferably designed to surround the infant, as described above. It should also be noted that diapers are used alone for this purpose.

The outer edge 604 is also provided with a flange 605 as previously discussed.

Optionally, the device comprises an elastic strap 610 adapted to place the outer edge 604 in an upright position when deployed and extended in the open position. This is the initial position. This feature encourages the caregiver to deploy a device that is only associated with opening the two elongated portions 612 and 614.

Optionally, the device is provided with a band 616 adapted to hold the baby paste tube 618.

Optionally, the device can be provided with a hole 610 in the portion 614 through which tissue can be deployed as previously described herein.

Optionally, the collapsible device according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention can provide a strap adapted to help carry the device itself.

It is possible to provide a means for music to flow when the device is unfolded and ready for use.

Optionally, the device can be provided with a sponge or other soft material inserted when the main body is made with different widths. This applies to portable devices as well as devices used at home. Various types of fabric can be used to cover the device.

Optionally, the device can be designed to be inflated to a usable position when opened or when the caregiver wishes to use it.

It should be added that the device can be provided with various other means known in the industry that are adapted to help care for the infant. Such means can be installed for baby bottles, scotch tape adapted to adhere entertainment means, music means and the like. This allows the device to provide all necessary equipment and equipment in one device, whether stable or portable.

Claims (26)

A member adapted to receive an infant's buttocks,
An outer edge provided on the member,
The infant is laid down on the member and the outer edge is adapted to prevent the infant from overturning, rotating or dropping;

The apparatus of claim 1, further wherein each of said outer edges is provided with a flange, said flange being adapted to support at least one of a plurality of diaper strips. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the flange is provided with an adhesive surface adapted to adhere oppositely to the diaper strip. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the flange is comb-shaped and the diaper strip is adapted to be held by the flange. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the member is designed to have a score so as to receive a plurality of unfolded usable diapers. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the outer edge is foldable and is adapted to fold over the member. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein a flexible sheet is provided between the outer edges and an infant is placed on the flexible sheet between the outer edges. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein a flexible sheet is provided between each of the outer edges and the member. The device of claim 6, wherein the device comprises an elastic strap adapted to pull the outer edge outward so that an initially deployed position can be established. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the member comprises a foldable extension. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein a fold line is provided between portions of the member. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the member is adapted to adjustably expand. 13. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the member is comprised of two parts that are adapted to be pulled out against each other. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the member is provided with a hole through which tissue that can be withdrawn from a tissue box is passed. The device of claim 1, wherein the device is provided with a holder for a pack of baby paste. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the holder is a hole in one of the outer edges. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the holder is a strap. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein an elastic member is provided below the member. The apparatus of claim 18, wherein the elastic member is a spring. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a headrest. 21. The apparatus of claim 20, wherein the headrest is adjustable. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the headrest is removable. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein a head fixture is provided. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein a rotating base is provided below the apparatus.
