Abstract

A diaper comprises an absorbent filling between an upper reticulated plastic film sheet and a lower liquid-impervious plastic sheet, the sheets being secured together at their bounding edges. Cellulose wadding is enclosed between the sheet of reticulated film e.g. high density polythene, polypropylene, ethylene/butene copolymer or ethylene/propylene copolymer, which has square holes forming a mesh, and a sheet of polythene. The liquid impervious sheet extends around the sides of the filling and is secured to the reticulated sheet by stitching, heat-sealing or adhesive. Specification 914,489 is referred to.ALSO:A non-adhesive surgical pad comprises an absorbent filling between an upper reticulated plastic film sheet and a lower liquid-impervious plastic sheet, the sheets being secured together at their bounding edges. Cellulose wadding is enclosed between the sheet of reticulated film, e.g. high density polythene, polypropylene, ethylene/butene copolymer or ethylene/propylene copolymer, which has square holes forming a mesh, and a sheet of polythene. The liquid-impervious sheet extends around the sides of the filling and is secured to the reticulated sheet by stitching, heat-sealing or adhesive. The pad may be used as an incontinence pad, a child's napkin or a sanitary napkin or may have extension pieces so that it forms a draw-sheet. Specification 914,489 is referred to.
