Class 142(4) [Also in Groups VI, VII and VIII] A disposable bed sheet &c. comprises an absorbent sheet including fibres of a water-insoluble sodium carboxymethyl cellulose. The sodium C.M.C. fibres may be mixed with fibres of unsubstituted cellulose, e.g cotton linters or refined wood pulp. The sheet 1 is preferably combined with one or more absorbent pads 2 also comprising fibres of a water-insoluble sodium C'.M.C. and backed with a film 3 of polyethylene &c.
