Abstract
632,735. Folding push-chairs. LONGONI, H. July 25, 1947, No. 20010. [Class 108 (i)] A child's folding push-chair is characterized by two frames hinged together, one frame being provided with the seat and forming, at its upper end, the handle-bar, whilst the other is provided with wheels and supports the loaded push-chair in the neighbourhood of its centre of gravity. The bearing frame comprises two side members 1, 1 connected at one extremity by the handle-bar 2 and carrying feet 15 at the other, two cross-members 3, 4 and a curved member 5 which projects from, the plane of the frame. A second frame has side members 6, 6 hinged to members 1, 1 at points 8, 8 approximately midway between members 3 and 4, and connected at their lower ends by an axle 7 which carries wheels 9. Said frames are also connected by struts 11 hinged at 10 enabling them to be collapsed, thus folding the frames together. The seat is formed of a pocketshaped piece of matting suspended from members 3 and 5. Two openings 13 allow child's legs to project and rest on member 4. The upper extremity of matting is provided with a stuffed head-rest 14. The seat may be permanently attached to the frame if of leather &c. or detachably attached by buttons or press studs 16 if washable.
