Abstract

494,283. Closures for bottles &c. HAGGENMILLER, F. Sept. 28, 1937, No. 26255. Convention date, Oct. 24, 1936. [Class 125 (iii)] A crown cork closure for a bottle &c. has a number of the crimps 12 in the border of the closure arranged to engage an inner cap and hold it in place in the closure ; as shown, the inner cap is formed with claws 5 holding a sealing disc 4. The tearing part 3 of the closure extends up to its border and has one or more lateral extensions 6 which are engaged beneath the crown 1 when the closure is secured to the bottle so that the tearing part is prevented from rising and the closure being unintentionally torn open. The extensions 6 are preferably of dovetailed shape with the widest parts directed towards the border of the closure ; the parts 6 are placed under the outside part of the crown of the closure by drawing that part outward as the closure is applied or the tearing part may be arched to facilitate the placing of the extensions 6 under the outside part of the crown of the closure.
