[Classes 103 (v), 108 (i), and 108 (ii)] A trailer for transporting aeroplanes and other machines comprises a platform tiltably mounted on wheels having a draw-bar, the front end of the platform being resiliently supported by the draw-bar, a rod connecting the draw-bar and platform for tilting the latter, a small carriage adapted to be positioned under the wheels of the aeroplane and, by means of a winch, draw the aeroplane to loaded position and frames for resiliently supporting the detached wings of the aeroplane. The platform 1 is pivotally supported on a wheeled draw-bar 3 which at its front end is provided with transverse springs 5, Fig. 10, connected at their ends by links 7 which carry a pin 8. This pin is adapted to be engaged by claw hooks 9 on the platform when the trailer is in travelling position, the hooks being locked by pins 11. Guide checks 12 and a pin 13 are provided. To tilt the platform to enable loading of the aeroplane a bar 15, Fig. 3, is pivoted to a traversing nut 16 on the draw-bar and to the platform 1, a slotted connection 20, 21 permitting freedom for the resilient support of the platform when travelling while a latch 22 permits rigid interconnection when it is desired to tilt the platform 1. A small carriage is adapted to run on the platform to support the wheels of the aeroplane and to bring the latter into loaded position. The carriage comprises a central frame together with two troughs for the aeroplane which, the troughs being transversely adjustable to suit the varied gauge of wheels. The wings of the aeroplane are usually detached when travelling on the trailer and are adapted to be mounted on a frame 55, Fig. 13, resiliently carried by a frame 51 .. 53 secured to the platform 1. The coupling member of the draw-bar comprises a pair of checks 45, Fig. 11, pivoted to the end 47 of the draw-bar and having a shank 48 for the tractor hook. The member is adjusted by means of a pin or bolt 49 passing through selected apertures 50 in the checks and draw-bar.
