Abstract

388,984. Folding-perambulators &c. TAN SAD, Ltd. and CHANTREY, G. M., 46, Upper Dean Street, Birmingham. July 4, 1932, No. 18810. [Class 108 (i).] In perambulators &c. of the type comprising a foldable cross structure, a handle pivoted to the upper rear part and side arms rigidly connecting the handle, at points remote from its pivot, to the front part of the structure there is provided a fixing strut pivoted to one part and protruding beyond the other part together with a locking link whereby the strut may be readily seized for operative purposes. Fig. 1 shows a folding perambulator comprising a crossed frame, the members a, b of which are pivoted at c and carry the wheels d, e either directly or by spring arms. The handle f is pivoted to the member a and to an arm rest member g the other end of which is pivoted at g<1> to the member b. A seat h is provided as shown and is supported by stirrup member g<2>. The foot rest member i is pivoted to the member a at il and in conjunction with a link j pivoted to the member b and the member i constitutes a locking member. To fold the perambulator the foot rest is lifted slightly and the handle member f pressed forwardly. A stirrup member g<3> is provided to support the back rest. In Fig. 4 the locking member comprising members k, l project rearwardly and a slight lifting movement to the member k unlocks it and allows the perambulator to be folded.
