Stands or supports.-The vehicle carries a turntable having screw-operated lifting-legs by means df which it may be lifted bodily from the ground and turned. The upper turntable member b is supported by ball bearings on the lower member c, which carries three guide members g for vertically movable supporting legs i. The legs are simultaneously raised or lowered by screws h, operated through bevel gearing from a central shaft j, which may be rotated in either direction by the engine through the medium of the bevel wheels r, t and shaft s, or may be rotated bv hand by means of the shaft s<1>. The upper and lower members of the turntable are locked together during the raising or lowering operations, but are unlocked when it is desired to rotate the vehicle. The friction of the screw lifting gear then prevents any further raising or lowering so that operation of the shafts s or s<1> rotates the vehicle bodily. In a modification the stem of the foot screws into a socket which is itself externally screw-threaded, and enters a socket forming part of the lower member of the turntable. The intermediate socket is rotated from the engine or by hand by means of a bevel wheel arranged below the fixed socket. In a further modification, the bevel wheel is arranged below the fixed socket. The circular wall a of the upper turntable b may be raised, and all the gearing carried by the turntable may be closed in by a top cover plate.
