Abstract

This invention relates to a method of forming a tearing portion in a container lid, and belongs to the technical field of manufacturing a container lid which can be opened by tearing in the can manufacturing technology. This invention enables the manufacturing of a container lid which has a harmless opening edge when it is opened by tearing and which enables saving of the power required to tear the lid open by providing the peripheral portion of an openable lid member with a tear guide lines while forming protuberances at that portion of the container lid by folding a plate material.
