Abstract

10,007. Cavieson, F. D. July 11. Stays.-Relates to an improved folding stay for folding tables, forms, &c. of the kind comprising jointed bars which overlap at their ends and are kept in line by a sliding sleeve. The bars a, bare side by side and are hinged together by a rivet c, which also acts as a stop for the sliding sleeve f. A projection d on one bar engages a notch e in the other bar, thus aiding in keeping the joint rigid. Riveted on the ends of the bars are iron knees bored and countersunk for screw nails, one knee being made to fix on the bottom rail of the table leg, and the other being made to fix on the centre bar of the table top.
