1425444 Exercising apparatus INTERNAX HOLDINGS Ltd 22 Feb 1974 [22 Feb 1973] 8212/74 Heading A6M An exercising device comprising a support means adapted for attachment to a rigid support and two flexible lines 50, 50', Fig. 1 each passing through the support means and each having a hand gripping means at one end and stirrup means adapted to engage a foot of a user at the other end, both the hand gripping means and the stirrup means being in the form of loops 52, 52' and 56, 56' respectively and the stirrup means having second loops 58, 58' respectively for engage ment with an ankle of a user. In use the flexible lines are tensioned by movements of the hands and feet of a user and in a preferred method of use one of the lines 50 may be tensioned by the right hand and right foot whilst the second line 50' is tensioned by the left hand and foot as shown in Fig. 4. The loops 56, 56' which engage beneath the feet are in a position to tension the flexible lines when the users legs are extended horizontally as illustrated by the position of the right leg in Fig. 4 and the other loops 58, 58' which engage the ankles are in a position to tension the flexible lines when the legs are upraised as illustrated by the position of the left leg in Fig. 4. In an embodiment the support device comprises a plate 10 having holes 12, 14, 16 therein, two of which 14, 16 are used to engage the hooks 44, 46 of pulleys 40, 42 and the remaining hole 12 being used to attach a securing line 20. Line 20 is adapted by means of a cylindrical plug 22 having three axial bores through which the line 20 is threaded to form a loop 26 by which the plate 10 is attached to a rigid support 32. The pulleys each have a flexible line passing therethrough so that movements of the users foot and hands engaged with a respective line causes this line to rotate the pulley through which it passes. A number of ways of using the exerciser are illustrated by Figs. 2, 3, 5, 6 (not shown).
