Abstract

1344688 Wheelchairs ZIMMER ORTHOPAEDIC Ltd (EVEREST & JENNINGS Inc) 17 Oct 1972 [22 Oct 1971] 49320/71 Heading B7B A wheelchair has a main body 1 provided with tubular front legs 2 supported on castors 3. Plates 4 and 5, fixed to the legs 2, have pins 6 and 7 which removably secure plates 8 and 9 welded to a footrest 10 which can be moved in the direction of arrows B, Fig. 3, between projected and retracted positions. The plate 9 has a manually releasable spring-loaded latch member 11 of channel form rotationally mounted on plate 9. A torsion spring 14 urges the latch 11 clockwise. A pin 15 fixed to the latch 11 engages a part 16 with the footrest projected, the latch being releasable by pressing counter-clockwise on a lug 17.
