Abstract

1334935 Mattresses HOWORTH AIR CONDITIONING Ltd 16 Feb 1972 [2 March 1971] 5838/71 Heading A4M A mattress comprises upper and lower panels 10, 11 secured together along seams 12 to define longitudinal ribs 13-17 containing foam plastics spines 22, 24, 25, 27, 28 and means for supplying air to the interior of the mattress including a header tube 23 communicating with the ribs 13-17, the lower panel 11 being airimpermeable and the upper layer 10 being permeable or including perforations 21 through which the air passes on to the user. A foam plastics pad 33 may be disposed beneath the central ribs 17 and the whole contained in an air permeable cover 30. The seams 12 may be gapped to enhance air flow between the ribs.
