Abstract

1286253 Hospital bed NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP 27 Aug 1969 [29 Aug 1968] 41364/68 Heading A4J An adjustable hospital bed has a mattress supporting frame 3 pivoted to a lower frame 1 by hinges 19, the geometry being such that the bed may be placed in a vertical position as shown with the footend 27 resting on the ground. A footrest 71 is removably provided and side pins may be arranged as disclosed in Specification 1286252 to act as hand grips for the patient. Preferably an electric motor 49 drives the screw jack 47 for altering the inclination of the bed. Feet 11 are raised from the floor when the bed end 27 engages it to prevent the bed moving on its castors.
