Bed-lifts. - An apparatus for transferring patients from one bed to another comprises a supporting-frame 17 suspended by cords 15, 16 passing over pulleys 11, 12 mounted on a frame comprising a pair of yoke-shaped members pivoted together centrally so that they may be folded one upon the other when not stayed apart by crosspieces 6, 7. The cords are wound on drums mounted on a spindle rotatable by worm gearing 23, 24. Castors 4 are mounted on the legs of the frame and may be locked by pins 5 in directions at right-angles, to prevent motion of the apparatus.
