Abstract

The chair for an invalid or infirm person is designed so that the occupant can use a standard lavatory. The seat has a central opening. The framework has four vertical legs, each mounted on a wheel and each telescopic, for height adjustment. These form parts of two side frames connected by cross members which are also adjustable so that the width can be altered. Arms are incorporated in the side frames. Waterproof and interchangeable covers can be fitted to the arm rests, seat and back.

Description

 The object of the invention relates to a straddle chair device for patients.

 It is intended to allow a disabled person or a patient to pass for example from a toilet bowl to a bidet in a bathroom or to use one or the other separately.

 It is known to use pierced chairs or armchairs with basins, but these accessories involved multiple handling and washing after each use.

 The following device eliminates these drawbacks and makes it possible to use a wheelchair or wheelchair to allow the patient or the handicapped to carry out his personal hygiene himself without needing an assistant or a nurse.

 It is made up of a combination of a frame whose rolling legs span the bowls and bidets with a pierced seat that can receive interchangeable fittings.

 The chair is constituted by a frame with legs 1, 2, 3, 4 preferably telescopic for its height adjustment. this base is mounted on rolling members 5, 6, 7, 8.

 The crosspieces 9, 10 are preferably telescopic for width adjustment.

 In general, the heights and widths are standardized and correspond to the dimensions of the cabinets 12, and bidets 13.

 The seat 14 is pierced and the backrest 15, like the armrests 16, 17 padded with waterproof and washable pads which can be interchangeable.

 The spacing of the base makes it possible to pass on either side of the bowl 12 or the bidet 13, while the height gives the possibility of positioning the seat in the XY axes of the bowls and bidets (vertical and horizontal axes), the the patient can go from one to the other without help and wash himself in the normal way.

This chair can also allow it to move for all other functions, such as for example to receive certain care and follow hydrotherapeutic or other treatments.
This straddle chair with seat change and removal of running gear can be used as an ordinary seat.

However, the shapes, dimensions and arrangements of the various elements as well as the materials used for their manufacture may vary within the limit of equivalents,
without changing the general conception of the invention which has just been described.

Claims (3)

 10 Straddle chair device for bathroom accessories and washroom bowl for the sick and disabled allowing the user to carry out toilet care themselves, characterized by the combination of legs (1, 2, 3, 4) provided with rolling members whose height and spacing make it possible to place the drilled seat (14) in the vertical and horizontal axes of the bidets (13) and cabinet bowls (12).  20 Device according to claim 1 characterized in that according to an alternative embodiment the legs (1, 2, 3, 4) and the crosspieces (9, 10, 11) are provided with a telescopic system for adjustment.  30 Device according to claim I characterized in that the seat (14) and backrest (15) and the armrests (16,17) are provided with waterproof and interchangeable fittings.
