Abstract

The laying of a carpet in a room is facilitated by using a pair of jacks for lifting heavy pieces of furniture. Each jack consists of a trapezoidal frame with feet. A screw operated device raises a pair of central supports (19) which fit underneath one side of the furniture (42). The use of these jacks enable the furniture to be held high enough for the roll of carpet (D) to pass underneath so that the furniture need not be moved out of the room.
