Abstract

The splint is intended for veterinary use, in order to immobilise the injured leg of an animal without interfering with its natural functions or preventing it from walking. It comprises a flat bar of aluminium or other light and rigid material. The upper end is bent to fit over the animal's body and the lower end is bent to support the lower limb below the fracture. The whole is held in position by an elastic bandage, this being applied as a strapping from the upper end of the splint to its lower end.
