Abstract

A system for rocking a cot, cradle or perambulator for an infant, employs a drive unit (1) which reciprocates an arm (6) attached to the cradle. In the case of a cot (12), a spring (15) can be mounted between each leg and the floor. The drive unit contains an electric motor with a rotating plate on its spindle, with a radial slot for the arm, acting as a crank drive. The arm (6) has an extension (10) which slides telescopically so that it can be set at a required length. The drive unit carries a plate (7) so that it can be fastened down e.g. to the floor, by screws. A reduction gear is used between the motor and the crank drive.
