Abstract

Injection moulding process for the production of mouldings with porous parts from thermoplastic material containing a blowing agent, comprises (a) plasticising the material by heating to a first temp. under the foaming temp. of the blowing agent, (b) injecting the plasticised material from the plasticising chamber into a mould while preventing free flow, (c) further heating the material to a second temp. above the foaming temp. this heating taking place after the material has left the plasticising chamber, and (d) curing the foamed thermoplastic material in the mould.
